BEFORE YOU START: BACKUP IMPORTANT DATA! Upgrading your Yarvik tablet to Android 4.0 will erase all user settings, user installed applications and user data from the internal tablet memory. Data on a MicroSD card will be kept. Always make a backup of important data (e.g. by copying it to a MicroSD card or USB drive). Yarvik cannot be held responsible for any data loss as result of the use of this Android 4.0 upgrade. CHECK APPLICATION COMPATIBILITY If you are using third party applications, please note that some third party applications are not (yet) optimized for Android 4.0 and may not be working properly when reinstalled on Android 4.0, or may not be installing or working at all. Please consult the developer of third party applications to check whether their software is Android 4.0 compatible. MAKE SURE YOU USE THE RIGHT UPGRADE FILE! Every Yarvik GoTab tablet eligible for the Android 4.0 upgrade has its own, very specific Android 4.0 software upgrade file. Please make sure you have downloaded the correct upgrade file for your specific model, e.g. the TAB460.img upgrade file for the Yarvik TAB460 GoTab Xerios 10 tablet. Software upgrade files meant for other tablet models are not compatible and will damage your tablet! Subsequently, the use of software upgrade files meant for other tablet models will automatically void your warranty. CHARGE THE BATTERY Make sure the battery of your Yarvik GoTab tablet is fully charged prior to performing the Android 4.0 upgrade. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS The software upgrade tool neccessary for upgrading your Yarvik GoTab tablet to Android 4.0 requires: - PC or laptop with Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 with administrator rights; - USB port. STEP 1 INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE UPGRADE TOOL Extract the file YarvikLiveSuit.zip. Once extracted, you will have a folder called YarvikLiveSuit, with the following contents: STEP 2 INSTALLING THE YARVIK GOTAB USB DRIVER To let the upgrade tool communicate with your Yarvik GoTab tablet over USB, a driver must be installed. First, completely switch off your tablet. This can be done by pressing and holding the POWER BUTTON ( ) until the tablet completely switches off. When switched off, press the MENU ( ) button of your tablet and keep holding it. PLEASE NOTE: on the TAB424/461/TAB464 this is the VOLUME- ( ) button. While holding the button, connect the USB cable (the one provided with your tablet) to your tablet and to your PC. After you have plugged in the cable, and while still holding the MENU ( ) button (VOLUME- ( ) button on TAB424/461/TAB464), quickly press the POWER BUTTON ( ) for 6 times rapidly after each other, then release all buttons. Windows will now attempt to recognize the connected tablet, but will fail to install its own driver: Page 3 of 9

For Windows XP: Click on your Windows Start button and click on Run in the Start Menu. In the Open: field of the window that follows, you type mmc devmgmt.msc and click on OK. For Windows Vista and Windows 7: Click on your Windows Start button. In the bottom of the Start Menu there is a field saying Start search /Search programs and files. Type mmc devmgmt.msc directly in this field followed by pressing Enter. For all Windows versions, the Device Manager will now open: Page 5 of 9
Locate the Unknown device (the Yarvik GoTab tablet), right-click on it and choose Update Driver Software : Browse the computer for driver software and point it to the USB Driver folder inside the earlier extracted YarvikLiveSuit folder and choose this location for Windows to install the driver. Click on Next to continue. Page 6 of 9
During the installation of the driver, a warning message may appear: Continue the installation by allowing to install the driver software anyway. The driver will now be installed on your PC. In the meantime, keep your Yarvik GoTab tablet connected to the PC! STEP 3 UPGRADING YOUR YARVIK GOTAB TABLET TO ANDROID 4.0 Open the LiveSuit.exe program inside the earlier extracted YarvikLiveSuit folder: The LiveSuit software upgrade tool will open: Click on the SelectImg button to point LiveSuit to the Android 4.0 software file (e.g. YarvikTAB260.img). Once selected, make sure that the path name to the software file is displayed in the Image field of the LiveSuit software upgrade tool. Page 7 of 9
Shortly disconnect the USB cable from the Yarvik GoTab tablet and plug it in again. LiveSuit will prompt the following message: Click Yes to continue. Another message will appear: Click Yes to continue. The upgrade process begins and will take up to 5 minutes: Page 8 of 9
LiveSuit will show you when the software upgrade has been completed: Disconnect your Yarvik GoTab tablet from the PC. Press and hold the POWER BUTTON ( ) to start the tablet. The Android 4.0 software upgrade has been completed! Once fully started, your Yarvik GoTab tablet can directly be used again. TIP: In the top-right corner of your Android 4.0 Home Screen, press the app menu button:. In the following app menu, press the Settings icon: to enter the Settings menu. Here you can find the options to set up your Yarvik GoTab, like Wi-Fi, Display brightness, sound, etc. Enjoy your now Android 4.0 equipped Yarvik GoTab tablet! Page 9 of 9
