RHODE ISLAND S HAUNTED RAMTAIL FACTORY Tuesday, October 11 at 6:30 pm Learn about the infamous Ramtail Factory, Rhode Island's officially haunted site as per the 1885 State Census. Learn the secrets as to why it is haunted and who actually still roams the ruins centuries after their demise. A very educational and mysterious account sure to fascinate. No registration necessary. Free and open to the public.

Yarn and knitting needles are available. Ages 10 to 100! TRIVIAL PURSUIT Are you a trivia nut? Join this group of like-minded adults who test their wits during adult trivial pursuit games. Most Saturday mornings from 10 am to 12 noon, and on the 3 rd Tuesday of each month at 7 pm, you ll find this group in the library conference room. Call ahead to be sure there is a game. WRITER S GROUP FOR ADULTS MEETS EVERY OTHER WEDNESDAY This writing group for adults was organized to provide a supportive atmosphere where participants can share ideas and experiences as they pursue their development of the craft of writing. No sign-up needed. Open to all adult writers.

RECYCLED BOOK PUMPKIN FOR ADULTS Saturday, October 8 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Community Room This is a FREE Program. Registration Required Join us to create this festive fall craft from recycled materials. Closed Monday, October 10 in honor of Columbus Day. The Jesse Smith Library was awarded a $500 State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations House of Representatives Legislative Grant under the sponsorship of Representative Cale Keable. The purpose of the grant was to purchase a variety of teen friendly seating to promote the library as a community gathering place for teens. We sincerely thank Representative Keable for his support of the library!

SCIENCE CLUB IS BACK and BETTER THAN EVER! MAGIC TREE HOUSE BOOK CLUB Mondays at 6:00 pm September 26, October 3, 17, 24 For grades K-3 Join the ADVENTURE and DISCOVER how exciting reading can be! We will learn about Dinosaurs, Knights & Castles, Mummies, Pyramids, and Pirates! There will be weekly challenges involving reading and introductory research skills. Each session (approx. 45-60 mins.) will include a read aloud portion, along with discussion, activities and FUN! This 4-week program is designed for students in grades K-3 and is limited to 12 participants, so sign up SOON at the Children s Room desk, or by calling the library! ELEMENTARY BOOK CLUB OCTOBER 6, 4:30 PM First Thursday of the month. For grades 3-5. We will be reading the Rhode Island Children s Book Award 2017 Nominees in anticipation of the Rooster Games. This month will be the first meeting of our monthly book club. We will be reading the Rhode Island Teen Book Award Nominee, The Thing About Jellyfish by Ali Benjamin Stop by the circulation desk to pick up a copy. Teen Hangout 5 Days a week! Monday-Thursday 2-6 PM Friday 2-4:45 PM Ages 11-17 In the Community Room Come and hang out with your friends, use a computer, play on the Wii, have a snack and do an activity or craft. Teens may come and go from the hangout anytime during the open hours. Teen Halloween Lock-in Friday, October 14th 5-10 PM Ages 11-17 Costumes are encouraged! Registration is required and must be done by October 7th. Parent or guardian must be present at the time of registration. You cannot have a history of inappropriate behavior to attend this program.
