Theree are two types of signatures that can be added to PDFs approval signatures and certifying signatures. CERTIFYING SIGNATURES The first person to sign a document (most often the author) has thee option to addd a certifying signature. Certifying a PDF indicates that you approve of its content and allows you to specify the types of changes that are permitted for the PDF to remain certified. You can choose from three levels of modification permitted: 1. No changes 2. Form fill in only 3. Form fill in and commenting Certifying signatures can be visible or non visible. Example Visible Signature Appears in the signature field within the document Example Non Visible Signature Appears as blue ribbon icon in document status bar HOW TO CERTIFY YOUR DOCUMENT With the document open in Adobe Acrobat, click Sign and then select Certify with Visible Signature or Certify without Visible Signature. If you choose to certify with a visible signature, you will first need to choose the location for your signature. Follow the on screen instructions to select your apply your signature.
Your signature will appear either at the top of the document (Non Visible Signature) or in the signature field (Visible Signature). By clicking the Signture Panel button, you can view the signature details.
