Turkey WITH GREECE EXTENSIONS Hotels Tours Programs Cruises Car Rental Tours Yacht Charter 2015 www.greecemedtravel.com

Welcome From my first visit to Istanbul I fell in love with Turkey. Now I return as often as I can and in 2014 I spent my private holiday in Turkey. And let me tell you, it was one of the best trips I have ever done. Of course I have to admit that when comes to weather, crystal clear blue waters, food and historical sites not many places can compete with Turkey. Turkey has it all and the only difficult part is that you have to make decisions on which places to see and which not to see as there is to many places to choose from. This time I spent most of my time in the southern part of Turkey and even made a day trip to Kas, a wonderful Greek island of Kastelorizo. My friends from New Zealand who joined us for this trip had never done a private tour before. They were amazed how affordable it was, but also how convenient it was to travel in the private minivan, stop at any time, swim when we felt like swimming and eat at the local restaurant that only a Turkish guide would know, and for a fraction of the price that a tourist would normally pay. We hopped on and off our air conditioned minivan and between the stops I could catch up on office work and communicate with friends on social media using the free WiFi. Our guide was fantastic, he also escorts many of our regular tours and was in love with Australians and New Zealanders. I have decided to offer our clients the opportunity to follow my itinerary and stay in the same hotels. You can find my tour on page 56. Travel with us to Turkey in 2015. I want you to experience that wonderful feeling of falling in love with Turkey as I did many years ago. Small Group Tours (Page 23 to 29) Following demands, we ve added more small group tours which run with a maximum 14 to 22 people and provide a more intimate experience. Small group tours are English speaking only and are guaranteed to operate with two passengers. Private Tours (Page 52 to 58) In this brochure, we have presented a few samples only, due to space limitation. What sets us apart... "A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality." - John Lennon Travel to Turkey with us and we will turn your dream into a reality. Would you rather... pay $50 more and stay in a safe, clean hotel that many Australians have previously enjoyed or save money and stay in a hotel found online, which happens to be in a red light district? travel on a coach tour with a guide who speaks English and who understands Australian customs or with an unknown online operator whose guide is paid based on how much you spend at local shops. book with an Australian owned and operated business, which provides you with the protection of Australian consumer laws or with an online operator with no protection. What options would you have if you ended up unhappy with their services? use our knowledge, contacts and purchasing power to ensure that you get the best possible price and value for money, or otherwise risk your valuable holiday. GREECE AND MEDITERRANEAN TRAVEL CENTRE We are Australian owned and operated business We are an Australian owned and operated company that sources product directly from the best suppliers, hotels, coach operators, car rental companies, etc. We negotiate the best prices and ensure the highest standard of service. We are a destination specialist and we know Turkey extremely well with our staff having travelled extensively throughout the country. We have expertise in our area that generalist operators don t. We have knowledge and product that is unique and not easy to find elsewhere, including online! We do not take a one size fits all attitude. We offer a selection of itineraries, choice of group sizes and most of our itineraries can be tailor-made to suit your needs. We feature products which are exclusive to us. We provide great service as we rely on repeat business and therefore want you to recommend us and to travel with us again in the future. Emergency Phone Number 24 Hours 7 Days a Week When booking with us you have the peace of mind of knowing that our professional and specially selected ground operators are available in Turkey any time day or night regardless of what time it is in Australia! With your documents you will be supplied with their 24 hour emergency contact number. Experienced Management and Staff Greece and Mediterranean Travel Centre is managed by Halina Kubica who has worked and lived in the Mediterranean for many years and is a renowned expert in the Eastern Mediterranean. She travels several times a year throughout the region to ensure that the best selection of products are available at the most competitive prices. Likewise, the staff are extremely knowledgeable and have travelled throughout Turkey. We know the area, have inspected the hotels, experienced the tours and are trained to recommend and create the best possible itinerary to suit your needs. Most importantly we understand the needs of Australians. Compare our Service Clients tell us often that they spend hours online trying to sort through numerous websites, itineraries and hotel descriptions! They sort through lists of local operators offering various tours, wondering if they re a legitimate business or backpacker operated. They read endless and often contradictory reviews on Trip Adviser. Over the years we have sent thousands of clients to Turkey and we constantly learn about their likes and dislikes and preferences. Every year we improve our products to meet clients needs and wants. Thanks to our experience we can quickly and professionally design itineraries, suggest options and give clients the most cost and time effective advice about transportation, hotels and tours. Most people don t paint their own house, they hire a professional painter. Most people don t sell their own house, they engage a real estate agent. Save time, save money and save yourself lots of hassle by using the services of a professional travel agent who will book your Turkey holiday through us. We cater for clients who are on a tricky budget as well as for those who can afford the most luxurious experience. We have the knowledge, we have the contacts and we have the purchasing power to ensure that you get the best possible price and value for money. 4

SAVE $$$ I just wanted to drop you a note to say that we had a fantastic time in Istanbul, the guide was amazing and really knowledgeable and even recommended and booked some fantastic restaurants for us, along with a Whirling Dervish show complete with a private transfer. Nothing was too much trouble for our guide and she did it all with a smile. I cannot compliment Greece & Mediterranean Travel Service highly enough. Thanks again. James Latest Specials and Prices The prices displayed in this brochure are accurate at the time of printing. We do however continue to negotiate special deals and better rates throughout the year, which we will pass on to you at the time of booking. Some hotels offer instant purchase deals that we may be able to offer, but are not printed in the brochure. If you happen to find a special deal or better price on the internet, but not in our brochure, please ensure that you contact us. You can save by prepaying your trip in advance or when you travel with six or more friends. Take advantage of our Early Bird Discounts or offers available when you travel on certain days. No Credit Card Surcharge You can pay for your holiday by Credit Card. We accept VISA and MasterCard without any surcharge for land arrangements. Take advantage of rewards programs that your card might offer you while paying in an easy and convenient way for your holiday to the Mediterranean. Halina s Hints When travelling through various countries there are things that the travel books and guides don t always tell you about. There are restaurants that the locals eat at, shops that offer more than just tourist souvenirs, as well as the hidden gems and many places that are off the beaten track. When you book with us you benefit from the personal experiences and you will have the opportunity to use some of the valuable tips and knowledge which we have acquired over many years from various trips to Turkey. However at the time of booking our staff can incorporate these and other tips and suggestions to ensure a truly memorable holiday experience. For example, a list of Halina s favourite restaurants in Istanbul can be provided with your documents if required. Hotels! Location, Location, Location Be aware that hotels that advertise a lot online may not offer better products or services than the hotels we offer. They just probably spend more money on online advertising! It is also important to remember that people who write comments online about hotels do not have the same needs or expectations as you may have and may come from different countries, hence may be looking for different experiences. Please note that some locations may attract business travellers, some nightlife seekers and some those who seek authentic experiences. Internet searches usually return hundreds of options in each location. The huge volume of hotels on offer can be quite daunting, and it becomes a challenge to find the right hotel for your needs and at the right price. Australian clients may find that hotel categories in Turkey are not equivalent to the ones in Australia. An official 4 star hotel in Turkey may be only 2 or 3 star in their view. We still retain a wide range of hotels for you to choose from, but have selected for the brochure only a few that we recommend in each category due to space limitations. Our Hotels Our hotels are conveniently located, their staff provide friendly and helpful service and understand the needs of our Australian clientele, hence in our view they are best value for money hotels. By selecting our hotel you can be sure that you will stay at a hotel that many of our previous clients used and were happy with. Talk to our team and we will recommend from our large selection a hotel that meets your budget and expectations. Testimonials On our website you can find copies of letters and emails received from our satisfied passengers, as well as from Travel Agents who have made bookings with us. Don t just take our word for how good our service is. A Turkish word that you do need to know: Hos geldiniz This word means welcome, and you will find the Turks extremely hospitable. Most shopkeepers will bid you hos geldiniz and offer you a glass of their beautiful apple tea (cay) while you negotiate for a must-have carpet, shawl or piece of jewellery. Istanbul s Grand Bazaar hosts over 4000 stores where you need to be prepared to bargain, as this is an important part of your shopping trip and can give you that bargain you are looking for. This is the reason why many flock to Turkey specifically for the shopping. Best buys include leather goods, textiles,

GREECE AND MEDITERRANEAN TRAVEL CENTRE Istanbul 8 Sitting at the heart of the ancient spice route where East meets West, Istanbul has long been a melting pot of people and cultures. This enchanting city is part of both continents, Europe and Asia and straddles both ancient and modern worlds. Once called Constantinople, Istanbul has for thousands of years been one of the most important urban centres on the planet and it is no surprise that it is now one of the "must visit cities" of the world. Visit Istanbul and experience it all for yourself. Istanbul Airports There are 2 airports in Istanbul: The Ataturk International Airport is 18 kilometres from the town. Transfer takes 30-40 minutes by car to Old Town and 15-20 minutes to New Town. Both domestic and international terminals are located at Ataturk airport and are within walking distance of each other. The Saw Airport services mostly the low cost airlines. Saw Airport is located 50 kilometres from town and transfers take approximately 70-80 minutes to Old Town and 60-70 minutes to New Town. Istanbul port is located in Karakoy area approximately five kilometres from Old town. Transfers take 15-20 minutes by car to Old Town and 10-15 minutes to New Town. Istanbul Hotels Please note that the hotels that come first on search engines are not necessarily the best located and most suitable for you. They are usually just the ones who spend the most on advertising. Hotel searches return between 800 to 1400 hotels in Istanbul, which can often be quite daunting. It becomes a challenge to find the right hotel for your needs at the fair price. We retain a wide range of hotels for you to choose from and have selected for the brochure just a few in each category due to space limitations. Our hotels are conveniently located and have staff who provide friendly and helpful service. They understand the needs of our Australian clientele, and in our view, represent the best value for money. By selecting one of our hotels you can be sure that you will stay at a hotel that many of our previous clients have used and were happy with. Please talk to our team and we will recommend from our large selection a hotel that meets your budget and expectations and is located in convenient location. Old Town vs New Town Istanbul is a city of almost 20 million people, which offers great diversity. It is good to note that some location may attract business travellers, some nightlife seekers and others who seek a more authentic experience. Most Australian travellers who visit Istanbul for the first time or for a short stay prefer to stay in the old part of town, commonly referred to as Old City. This area offer local flavour with most hotels located within walking distance to such attractions as Blue Mosque, St Sophia, Topkapi and Bazar. There is also a large selection of local restaurants to choose from and a convenient tram service. There is also a larger selection of hotels in the New City with most international chain hotels are located there. Ferry to Asia Istanbul is the only city in the world to straddle two continents; it spans from Europe to Asia. The Asian side, also known as the Anatolian side, is separated from the European side by the Bosphorus Strait. While many of the tourist attractions can be found on the European side, catching a ferry across the strait will allow you to check out the popular markets in Kadiköy, enjoy some great shopping or head to Çamlica Hill for incredible views of the city. Halina's Hints There are more than 200 markets set up in Istanbul every week. This is an old tradition that comes from the Ottoman times. Markets in Turkey offer almost anything (not only fruits and vegetables). On a Sunday morning go to seaside suburb of Ortakoy and stroll through the open air markets held in the streets around the Ortakoy mosque on the Bosphorus. Artists sell their work to passers by and some of the best street food in the city can be found here. It is not only about buying goods it is about food, wandering around and people watching. For those that would like to explore the city at night, the Beyoglu area known for its arts and entertainment is Istanbul's nightlife hub. Located on the European side it boasts a growing number of cool venues. Check out hip café Leyla, for cocktails or cappuccinos, and around the cobbled corner try to catch live Balkan music at Badehane bar. During the day drop in to Istanbul Modern gallery located near Karaköy Port, which frequently hosts the exhibitions of renowned Turkish and foreign artists or to the Pera Museum with works from the late Ottoman period.
