The Children s Centre Junior Triathlon Sponsored By Integrated Capabilities Ltd 9am Sunday 27 th July At The Northern Swimming Pool Ramsey Juniors are invited to take part in a Multi-Sport event. The distances for each discipline are based on the maximum set by the British Triathlon Federation per age group. Details of the distances are set out below. The swim is in Ramsey Swimming Pool, with the cycle ride along the wide promenade footpath opposite the pool. The run section will be laps of a marked course on the rugby field. *Age Swim Cycle Run 8 yrs Blue T-shirt 9-10 yrs Green T-shirt 11-12 yrs Yellow T-shirt 13-14 yrs Red T-shirt 50m (2 lengths).7k (1 lap) 550m ( 1 lap) 150m (6 lengths) 3.5k (5 laps) 1.1k (2 laps) 200m (8 lengths) 5k (7 laps) 1.65k (3 laps) 300m (12 lengths) 6.3k (9 laps) 2.2k (4 laps) Age Groups Definition - the child s age is the age that they will be on 31 st December 2014, they must wear the coloured t-shirt applicable to their age group for example if your child is 8yrs on the day of the event but will be 9yrs by 31 st December, they will be in the 9-10yrs age group and should wear a green t-shirt. Registration Will take place on Saturday 26 th July between 5pm - 7pm, the day before the event at Ramsey Swimming Pool in the cafe area There will be a race briefing at 6.45pm at the end of registration for all competitors
We are unable to do registration on the morning of the event What We Will Provide A coloured t-shirt which correlates to their age category please see table Coloured swimming cap - the colour is not relevant to your t-shirt / age colour but to assist the length counters in the pool, so as we know how many lengths your child has swam You will be given 2 race numbers, 1 is for the front and 1 is for the back of your t-shirt. The race numbers must be displayed at all times during the event Course maps and race day instructions will be supplied by email and be available on The Children s Centre website 4 weeks prior to the event http://www.thechildrenscentre.org.im. Swim Section Children will be split into groups according to their ages, with the first group starting the swim at 9am For the swim section diving and tumble turns are not allowed Parents are to collect their child s clothing from the swimming pool change area Cycle Section Children must wear an approved cycle helmet for the bike section of the event Helmets are not provided Children are to wear the coloured t-shirt provided by us. Please present your bike, helmet, t-shirt (with numbers pinned on), shorts & trainers (in the bag provided) to
the transition marshals who will show you where to set up Transition Area 2 will be on the grass area by the rugby pitch and the BMX track, it will be signed There is to be no unauthorised access in transition areas In the event of cold weather, warm clothing i.e. track suit tops and bottoms or fleeces can be worn but please ensure that the coloured t-shirt is put on over the top of any other clothing, with the numbers clearly visible. PARENTAL AGREEMENT (to be signed by a parent or guardian) I am aware my child must wear an approved cycle helmet whilst cycling. I will ensure my child s bike is in a roadworthy condition. I know of no physical or mental condition which may endanger my child while participating. I accept that the organisers, helpers, etc. will not be held responsible for any loss or injury sustained to my child during the event.
