SCHEDULE Friday August 22 nd : 3:00pm - 7:00pm Tech & Safety Inspection, Gear Check and Registration. THERE WILL BE NO RACING FOR ANY TEAM UNTIL THE CAR HAS PASSED TECH AND SAFETYAND THE TEAM CAPTAIN HAS BEEN THROUGH REGISTRATION! 5:00pm NOVICE SCHOOL All racers new to chump are REQUIRED to attend!! NO EXCEPTIONS Saturday August 23 rd : Open 24 hours There will be no entry allowed without wristbands. You can purchase at the gate if you haven t received at Registration 7:00am MANDATORY Drivers Meeting held at the base of the tower 7:45am Cars to Grid 7:55am Parade Laps 8:00am Green Flag 10:00pm Checkered Flag 10:05pm Post Race Impound 10:45pm Awards Ceremony Michigan International Speedway Supplemental Rules: A 92dB noise restriction will be strongly enforced during the race. No vehicles may be started before 7:30am nor operate after 10:00pm. Sounds levels before 9:00am and after 10:00pm must not exceed 95 db. Paddock Area. Paddock spots will not be assigned (nor available for reservation) but rather available on a first-come, first-served basis. Pit Stalls: Pit Stalls will be assigned. Email wendye@chumpcar.com for any requests. Paddock Speed Limit. Paddock Speed Limit is 10 mph; watch out for fellow teams, staff and volunteers. Caught speeding and it won t be good. Paddock speed will be strongly, strictly and unimaginably enforced. Pit Lane Speed Limit. The pit lane speed limit is 25 mph (that s about 1,500-2000 RPM in second gear for most cars.) The speed limit shall be in effect for the entire length of the outer pit wall. No one under the age of 18 is allowed near the hot or cold pit area.
FUEL : Will be available for purchase at the track. We have asked for the truck to be there from 11am to 6pm on Saturday. We have also requested 93 Octane fuel. Paddock Supplemental Rules: SRPP1 Fueling of all race cars shall be completed by use of 5-gallon plastic jugs and funnels, hoses or other fueling adapters as specified in the Rules. Jugs must have sealable lids/caps. Metal fuel drums or other fuel containers (no overhead fuel rigs) and caddies with manual pumps (no electric pumps) and hose lines are allowed to re-fill plastic jugs but are not allowed for re-fueling race cars. All fuel storage must be maintained on the "cold" side of the pit wall or kept within your transporter. We need you to use common sense and be SAFE!! SRPP2 All teams shall have one (1) fully-charged 10LB ABC fire extinguisher in their pit area. All teams shall have one (1) 10LB bag of kitty litter or other reasonable absorbitant for oil leaks and/or fuel spillage in their pit area, as well as a fueling catch pan. Having a broom handy is also advisable. SRPP3 Drivers may remain in the car during fueling and driver changes may also be completed, but all safety equipment, including gloves, must remain on, especially helmet visors must remain down. All engines and electrical kill switches must be off during fueling. NO WORK ON ANY CAR SHALL BE COMPLETED DURING REFUELING. (Note: Replenishing of cool-suit or drinking liquids is considered additional work and is not allowed. Cleaning of windshields has been disallowed from approved operations.) SRPP4 Those involved in fueling race cars must wear a Nomex driver s suit, gloves and full-face helmet WITH VISOR DOWN. No crew members, tools or staged fuel jugs are allowed over the wall until the team car has come to a complete stop in the pit box. Only one fuel jug over the wall at a time! YOU WILL NEED LIGHTS FOR THIS EVENT. CHECK THE RULES FOR MORE DETAILS. YOU WILL ALSO NEED NUMBER PANEL LIGHTS If you are in need of some number panel lights email wendye@chumpcar.com to reserve your set. HAVE ALL LIGHTS READY TO BE CHECKED AT TECH ON FRIDAY. ALL CARS WILL NEED TO BE TECHED FOR YOUR LIGHTING! We will have a separate line for this. Even if you have had your annual inspection, your lights will still need to be checked. Race Day Spectators/Dogs: Guests are welcome to attend the weekends events. Spectator wristbands will be available at the front gate for $20. Please try to purchase these at registration in advance. The passes provide access to the paddock and track viewing areas. Children 16 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. All teams, drivers, crew, family & friends are required to have a wristband. Dogs are welcome but must be on leash at all times. Dogs are not allowed in the hot or cold pit area.
Alcohol/Smoking: And as with all ChumpCar races, absolutely no alcohol during the race including your guests and spectators (it s grounds for immediate removal of your car and team from the race and property period). And glass is never allowed on property. NO SMOKING IN PIT LANE/PADDOCK AREA. Camping: Camping will be allowed for the weekend. Camping pass will include electricity at a cost of $100 for the weekend. Passes must be purchased on Friday August 22 nd at registration. Please email wendye@chumpcar.com in advance to book your camping spot. There is no charge for tent camping (unless you need electricity) if so then it will be the same cost. Off hour Camping Rules: THERE WILL BE NO WALKING ON THE TRACK AND NO ONE ALLOWED NEAR THE TRACK AND/OR PIT AREAS AFTER HOURS. We had some issues last year so please don t embarrass yourselves (and more so Chumpcar by ruining our reputation with this facility) BBQs: The track does allow the use of small BBQs, charcoal or gas. Just remember BBQs must be supervised at all times, a fire extinguisher must be within 15 of the open flame, and that all open flames are (at a minimum) 30 from all race cars, fuel storage or other flammable sources. Pit Vehicles: Pit vehicles are allowed in the paddock (but not anywhere else on track or off pavement), and must obey the 10 mph paddock speed limit. In particular, motorcycles, ATVs and four-wheel drive trucks may not be driven in the adjacent hills for any reason. No one under 16 allowed on any ATV, golf cart, motorized bike, or scooter. Any pit vehicle violations will result in penalty laps to the associated team. Trophies & Purse: Enduro*: $800-1 st place; $600-2 nd place; $300-3 rd place; $200 4 th place *If less than 35 entries, 75% of purse rounded to the nearest $100 will be awarded, issued in redeemable ChumpChange (see Rules Section 1.5 Winners & Awards). And some really nice trophies and of course bragging rights! The Top 10 finishers will qualify for an invitation to the 2014 Chumpionship to be held at Watkins Glen!! Adding to the usual prizes, Bruce from Bruce High Performance Transporters will be giving away a Custom-made canopy to give away! Battery Distribution Day: At this event we will have Optima Battery Distribution to those teams that have yet to receive one. Be sure to bring your cars log book for documentation. Times: Friday afternoon from 3 7 (or until they run out) during tech/registration. Camping/RVs: Camping is allowed overnight in the paddock. All campers/rv s will be charged $100 for the weekend. This cost includes electricity. No excessive noise will be tolerated by the track security. Everyone must stay away and off the track and restricted areas during quiet time! Quiet time is from 10:00pm 7:00am. Teams will leave need to be off property following the end of Sunday s race by 7:00pm, when the track gates close.
