EUROPEAN TOUR QUALIFYING SCHOOL FIRST STAGE SECTION D 4 th 7 th October PLAYER INFORMATION 1. Venues Full details of the location of each venue can be found on their respective websites listed below. Conditions Each First Stage event will be contested over 72 holes of stroke play with 18 holes being played each day. After 54 holes only those players within 7 shots of the final qualifying place will go forward to contest the final round. Saturday may be used as a full playing day and competitors should take note of this when making their travel plans. The number of players qualifying to proceed to the Second Stage will be announced as soon as reasonably possible after all players have teed off at both venues during Section D. In all cases, players who tie the final qualifying place score will proceed to the Second Stage. The European Tour reserves the right to alter the schedule of play (or courses) at any time. 3. Practice Details of practice rounds at each venue are as listed below. Bogogno Official practice (from 1 st tee) will be as follows:

Sunday 2 nd October - 13.00 17.00 Monday 3 rd October - 08.00 16.00 No booking is required on these days and the tee will be available on a first come first served basis. The course will be available prior to these times subject to prior booking and availability (Saturday and Sunday generally unavailable) and players will be given courtesy. Frilford Heath (Red Course) The Red Course will be available on Sunday 2 nd October (from 13.00) and Monday 3 rd October exclusively for Qualifying School competitors. Competitors should book their starting times for both days through the Golf Shop. The 1 st tee will be open at the following times: Sunday 2 nd October - 13.00-16.30 Monday 3 rd October - 08.00-15.00 (Starting from the 10 th tee will not be permitted.) Prior to the official practice days players will be able to play the course at the practice round rate of 35 per round but only from Monday to Friday and not at weekends. Registration All competitors are required to register with the European Tour by 12.00 on Monday 3 rd October. This may be done as follows: (i) In person at (or by telephone to) the European Tour office on site. (ii) By telephone to the European Tour office at Wentworth, telephone + 44 (0) 1344 840400 or + 44 (0) 1344 844471. (iii) By email to qs@europeantour.com Amateur competitors who wish to maintain their amateur status must indicate their intention in writing and this can be done by completing a standard form available at registration. 5. Withdrawals All withdrawals must be notified to the European Tour Entries Dept or the European Tour office at the player s venue. If a player withdraws after the closing date and prior to competing (for any reason and without exception) he will be refunded 1,670 or the Sterling equivalent of 1,300. If a player is absent on the tee without notification, no refund will be given and he may face disciplinary action subject to circumstances. Once an entrant had teed off refund of entry is not possible.

A player may withdraw following the completion of any round providing notification is given to the European Tour office on site prior to the conclusion of that days play. 6. Bad Weather Saturday 8 th October has been reserved at each venue in case of delays due to bad weather. As a principle the following guidelines will be used: - 4 stipulated rounds is the objective. - If 4 rounds cannot be completed by the evening of the bad weather day, 3 rounds is the objective. - If 3 rounds cannot be completed by the evening of the bad weather day, 2 rounds is the objective. - If 2 rounds cannot be completed by the evening of the bad weather day, the event may be rescheduled in whole or in part. - A full day s play will not be scheduled after the bad weather day but in exceptional circumstances a round in progress may be completed. 7. Clubhouse Information The clubhouses will open approximately 1¼ hours before play begins and breakfast will be available. 8. Practice Ranges The European Tour will be providing Titleist balls for the use of School competitors on the range at each venue. In principle, the ranges will be fully operational from Monday morning (unless otherwise specified) and opening and closing times will be as follows: Bogogno Monday - Thursday - 07.00-19.00 (last balls) Friday - 07.10-10.00 Frilford Heath Monday - 10.00 17.00 (last balls) Tuesday - Thursday - 06.30 18.00 (last balls) Friday - 06.30 10.00 Please check the noticeboard at each venue for any amendments to these timings. Any player found removing balls from the range will be subject to disciplinary action under the European Tour Code of Behaviour (see 9 below). 9. Conduct and Dress Regulations All competitors must abide by the European Tour Code of Behaviour as contained in the Members General Regulations Handbook copies will be available from the Tournament Office on site. For a minor breach of the code a fine of not less than 120 ( 100) nor greater than 4,800 ( 4,000) will be applied. Jeans, shorts and collarless shirts are not acceptable attire at any time or for any reason.

If any player is seen or reported for breaking any of the under noted Rules of Etiquette, whether in practice or during the School, he shall be fined a minimum of 120 ( 100) for the first offence, doubling thereafter in accordance with the European Tour Disciplinary Procedure: a) Playing from outside teeing area during practice. b) Not repairing pitchmarks. c) Not raking bunkers. d) Breaching European Tour practice regulation. 10. Caddies There is no restriction on the use of caddies except that no competitor at the First Stage of the Qualifying School may caddie for any other player whilst still participating at the First Stage. Therefore a player who has withdrawn, been disqualified or missed the cut will be permitted to caddie. Caddies are not permitted to wear jeans, sandals or golf shoes (with spikes). Caddies may wear shorts provided they are tailored, solid coloured and knee length. Beach style shorts or shorts with cargo pockets, patterns or stripes of any kind are unacceptable. 11. Trolleys Trolleys will be available at all venues and will be provided free of charge. These will be available on a first come first served basis. NOTE: The use by a player of a device attached to a trolley for the purpose of gauging or measuring distance or conditions that might affect his play is not permitted. It is therefore recommended that any such device is turned off or disabled before the trolley is used. 12. European Tour Rules and Regulations All European Tour Competition Conditions, Rules and Regulations will apply. A full list of Competition Conditions, Rules and Regulations will be available at each venue and on the 1 st tee. Competitors are specifically asked to note: a) Limitation of balls used during Round During a stipulated round the balls a player uses must be of the same brand and type as detailed by a single entry on the current list of Conforming Golf Balls. b) Driving Clubs The driver the player carries must have a clubhead, identified by model and loft that is named on the current list of Conforming Driver Heads issued by R&A Rules Limited. Penalty for Breach of Condition: disqualification. c) Dangerous Situation - Play Suspension If play is suspended due to a dangerous situation, play must be suspended immediately. Penalty for breach of rule: disqualification. d) Practice Putting Prohibited A player shall not play any practice stroke on or near the putting green of the hole last played. e) Pace of Play Please refer to the attached policy.

f) Groove Regulations Please note that the 2010 R&A Groove Regulations as listed on the European Tour Hard Card will be in effect for all stages of the Qualifying School. g) Distance Measuring Devices Please note that the use of a distance measuring device or a device used to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect a player s play (eg. gradient, wind speed or direction, etc.) is not permitted. h) Anti-Doping This will be in effect, please refer to point 13., below. 13. European Tour Anti-Doping Policy The European Tour operates an Anti-Doping Policy which has been developed to protect the integrity that is inherent in the sport, and to ensure the health and safety of all competitors. As a condition of participation all competitors must comply with and be bound by the terms of the policy. A handbook detailing information on the policy is available from the European Tour. Please note that the European Tour reserves the right to implement testing at any Stage of the Qualifying School. 14. Prize Money The leading Professional players at each venue will receive prizes as follows: 1. 1,800 2. 1,200 3. 900 4. 650 5. 450 5,000

Amateur entrants are not eligible for prize money. Please note that prize money payments can only be made by bank transfer and we are unable to issue cheques. Prize money may be subject to tax depending on the requirements of the Tax Authorities in each country. Players who win prize money must supply their bank account details and a copy of the appropriate section of their passport in order to receive payment. European Tour Website The European Tour Website www.europeantour.com includes a dedicated section about the Qualifying School this can be accessed via the main navigation bar at the top of the home page ( Q School ). This site will carry various information about all Stages of the Qualifying School with specific details about each venue. This will include entry lists, draws and results once each tournament commences. Please use the following link to source information about a specific venue: http://www.europeantour.com/europeantour/qualifying/tournament/index.html 17. 2017 Challenge Tour Membership Any player who participates in the First Stage of the European Tour Qualifying School will be eligible for Membership of the European Challenge Tour for the 2017 season as an Associate Member 1. To obtain full membership rights, players who are eligible for Membership as Associate Member 1 must have paid their Membership fee prior to competing in their first European Challenge Tour Ranking tournament or before 1 st May 2017, whichever is the sooner. At the conclusion of 1 st Stage of the QS full details of Associate Membership will be forwarded to those players who fail to reach 2 nd Stage. (Exception - Any player removed from a 1 st Stage or 2 nd Stage tournament by the European Tour due to conduct or non-competitive performance will not be eligible for the above membership.)
