BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING DEFINITION OF BIM AND REVIT Collaboration Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a process that involves creating and using an intelligent 3D model to inform and communicate project decisions. Productivity Modelling Analysing Design, visualization, analysing and collaboration enabled by BIM authoring and evaluation software solutions provide greater clarity for all stakeholders across the project lifecycle. Revit is BIM-authoring CAD software for architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, designers and contractors. It allows users to design a building structure and single components in 3D, annotate the model with 2D drafting elements and access non-graphical information from the models database. CLASH DETECTION NAVISWORKS Clash detection is an important and integral part of the BIM technology. Clash detection arises out of the fact that there is not just one model, but several. Each discipline creates a model, independently of all the others, based on the regulations that have been agreed to during the preparatory stage. Authors of conflict elements will be notified at an early stage. Authors of such conflict elements have to correct these in their model within an appropriate period of time. 30

BIM MANAGEMENT CONCLUSIONS 33
CONCLUSIONS Define clear expectations and goals at the beginning Collaboration and communication are the key factors Promotes more efficient designs Promotes more collaborative and efficient workflows Allows for critical and cost saving decisions to be made earlier during design 34
