We highly recommend all competitors have representation from the Sunday night in case of programme changes, and have equipment for both slalom and giant slalom disciplines available.
RULES BASS and unseeded races for U16, U14, U12 and U10 will be run under BCR (FIS ICR as amended by BSS). Competitors are reminded to check the latest Equipment Rules. No slalom helmets or helmets with chin guards attached will be allowed for any of the SG, GS or Speed Race events, and the wearing of cat suits or similar one or multi piece clothing by U12 and U10s is prohibited (BCR 606.6) PRIZE GIVING* Medals will be awarded as follows for male and female competitors of any Nationality: Rossignol SG/SC Races 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd U14, U16 WSF GS 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd U10, U12 WSF Speed Race 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd U10, U12 Trophies, equipment and cash prizes from event sponsors Rossignol & The Winter Sports Foundation will be awarded to the British winner of each age group in each event. Rossignol Speed Series 1 st Overall Male & Female of any Nationality, based on the combined points results of 4 events. *Our aim is to have the awards ceremony in the finish area at the end of each race day. RACE ENTRY DETAILS British competitors must be registered with their Home Nation. All competitors must have a current insurance policy that permits them to ski race. The Organising Committee may require proof of insurance such as a valid governing body race licence or an independent certificate of insurance. Race Insurance is entirely the responsibility of the competitor, and all entries are made under the understanding that any costs resulting from an incorrect, or a lack of, insurance policy lie with solely with the competitor. The Organising Committee reserves the right to refuse entry to skiers who do not possess seed points and who cannot demonstrate a minimum level of competence. Suitable evidence may include previous race results or certification from a coach. All British entries must be made via the official online entry system at www.ersa.co.uk. Race entries will only be accepted if accompanied by the correct race entry fee of: U16/U14-30 per competitor per event or 100 for all 4 races. U12/U10-30 per competitor per event or 50 for both races. Unofficial Super G Training, which will be open to all age groups, is planned for Monday 9 th January from 7am until 11.30am. The exact format will be discussed at Sunday nights Coaches meeting, and the training will be supervised by club coaches, with participation at each athletes own risk. The aim will be to allow each competitor 3 timed runs on the race slope, with two different courses for different abilities. There will be a 20 charge per athlete for SG training to cover the slope rental and early lift fee, payable on the morning of the training in cash. The series will be open to International Competitors, who should use the standard entry form and make entry prior to 02.01.. Any entries received after this time will not automatically be accepted. The entry fee for international athletes is 25 per competitor, per race payable at race meetings. An Acceptance list showing entries received by the closing date will be published on www.snowsportengland.org.uk & www.britski.org along with the Team Evolution Facebook Page, by Wednesday 4 th January (N.B. this Acceptance List will not be updated with late entries). THE CLOSING DATE IS MONDAY 2 nd JANUARY. Acceptance of entries in resort will be dependent on number of entries received & snow conditions. Late entries will incur a penalty of 10.00 per competitor per race.
REFUNDS In the case of withdrawal from any event due to injury, refunds may be available on production of a doctor s note / certificate at the discretion of the event organisers. There will be no refunds available for weather or snow conditions resulting in any cancellation of races. VOLUNTEERS This is our first year of running the races and as such we would greatly appreciate any help from parents & supporters in resort during the series. The races are being run in partnership with Reiteralm Ski Club, and we will also have a small team of British officials in resort also, including a TD, Chief of timing & Race Secretary to ensure the race meets the BCR standards. Coaches will be appointed as Referee by the TD. We will need five gate judge volunteers per day for the SG races, which we will be asking for at the first race meeting. We would also be grateful for help with;; provisional timingboard staff, commentators & bib collectors. If you are interested in helping please contact the race secretary. Free two-day lift passes which cover skiing within the region will be provided for those helping with any event jobs. PHOTOGRAPHY Official photographers and cameramen will be present during the event. If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed at the event, or for your image to be used for promotional purposes, please inform the race secretary in writing.
TRAVEL Reiteralm is easily accessible via Munich Airport (2.5 hours) or Salzburg Airport (1 hour). During the winter months, British Airways offers routes from London, with connections available for those flying from Edinburgh. Jet2 flies from Manchester and EasyJet from Luton and Liverpool airports. For access by car, the driving time is approximately 12 hours from Calais, with no mountain passes on route. For competitors travelling from Leogang, Reiteralm can be reached by either motorway or by travelling over the Deiten Pass, with both routes taking approximately 1 hour, depending on traffic and weather conditions. Access to the race piste is gained via the SilverJet Gondola and ample parking is available at the bottom of this lift. ACCOMMODATION Schladming, which is in the same ski area as Reiteralm and is connected by ski lifts as well as by road, has a variety of apartments, pensions, hotels & luxury accommodation on offer to suit all budgets. Discounted three-day Lift Passes will be available for competitors and parents, priced at 65 for U16s and 125 for over 16s. These are also on offer to parents, and cover the whole of the Ski Amade region. These passes can be bought in bulk from the coaches meeting on the Friday night.
