2 NOTICE OF RACE MONTPELLIER INT L KITEFOIL SILVER CUP PRO/AM From 20 May to 23 May, 2015 MONTPELLIER / VILLENEUVE LES MAGUELONE (34) FRANCE Organising Authority: AIRSEAKITE / FESTIKITE 1. EVENT 1.1. The 2015 MONTPELLIER INT L KITEFOIL SILVER CUP PRO/AM will be held from (Day of Registration) to (Day of Prizegiving) 2. VENUE 2.1. The event will be based in Villeneuve-Les-Maguelone, Montpellier, France Conditions to be expected: dominant NW / N / S / WSE, winds 8-20 knots, water temperature degree C, air temperature min 15 C max 25 C. 3. RULES The MONTPELLIER INT L KITEFOIL SILVER CUP PRO/AM regatta will be governed by: 3.1. the rules as defined in the 2015 AFCK and the RRS Racing Rules of Sailing National Authority prescriptions will apply The French federal rules, this Notice of Race (NoR) and the Sailing Instructions (SI). If there is a conflict between languages, the French text will take precedence. 4. ENTRY REGULATIONS AND ELIGIBILITY The MONTPELLIER INT L KITEFOIL SILVER CUP PRO/AM is open to equipment of the KiteFoil Class and with only 99 competitors Entry applications shall be made through the FESTIKITE website at The registration fee is 150 until May 16, The entry fee will increase to 250 after 16 May (Increase of 75%!). Entries made on site shall be made in cash only Competitors shall be members of a National Kiteboarding Class Association 4.5. Competitors shall provide the following documentation prior to completing registration formalities on site: : Medical Treatment Permission - for those under age of 18 or on their parents medical insurance policy Parental/legal Guardian Assent - for those under age of Evidence of valid third party insurance minimum 5 million Euros. 5. CANCELLATION AND REFUND % of entry fees may be refundable if accompanied by a medical certificate issued by a medical doctor stating a valid reason why the competitor cannot compete. 7. IDENTIFICATION, EQUIPMENT & EQUIPMENT INSPECTION It is the responsibility of each competitor to ensure that his/her board and equipment conforms to AFCK Class Rules. Competitors shall bring their own equipment Every competitor is required to wear the official event lycra with his personal identification number whenever going afloat during the event A deposit of 50 to the order of AIRSEAKITE be required upon registration. It will be returned by the end of the event. If it s not returned by Saturday, May 23, the deposit will be cashed. 8. SCHEDULE 8.1. REGISTATION: Tuesday, May 19-3 pm to 7 pm and Wednesday, May 20 from 08:30 am to 10 am at the INT'L KITEFOIL SILVER CUP Pro/Am office in the central square of FESTIKITE VILLAGE Villeneuve lès Maguelone (34) 8.2. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The regatta format will be described in the Sailing Instructions. Courses to be sailed will be described in the AFCK Sailing Instructions and the RSS Sailing Instructions on the Official Notice Board. 10. COURSE The event SI s and courses will be posted on the official notice board at first skippers meeting latest, and available at the event and/or AFCK website and by hard copy on request only The minimum wind limit to launch a series remain at the discretion of the race committee depending on weather conditions of the moment. 11. SCORING One race is enought to validate an event s ranking. The Sailing Instructions will describe further details. AFCK classification system. FUTURE IS FOILING! 3

4 12. JURY A Jury may be appointed in accordance with the AFCK. Their decisions will be final and cannot be appealed, as specified in AFCK rules. 13. PENALTY SYSTEM The Penalty System of RRS 44 as amended through the SI will apply. Discretional penalties and arbitration will be used as outlined in the Sailing Instructions. 14. FORMAT The competition is only open to FOIL. 15. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Competitors take part in all races at their own risk Participation in this event, supporting events and in each race in them is at the sole discretion of the sailor and at his/her own risk. Notice is drawn to RRS ASKO, AFCK, FFVL, KWM or any of their officials or representatives or the sponsors are not responsible, under any circumstances, for any damage, loss or injury either ashore or on the water either to persons or equipment, which may result. 16. INSURANCE Competitors shall possess valid third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 5 million Euros. 17. ADVERTISING Competitors may be required to carry advertising for event and class sponsors on their kiteboards, lines, and on a lycra vest if supplied by the organiser. 18. TELEVISION AND MEDIA AND SECURITY In registering for the event, competitors automatically grant to the AIRSEAKITE and the Organising Authority the right in perpetuity to make, use and show from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television and other reproduction of them, taken during the period of the event, for the said event as defined in the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions in which he/she participates without compensation. 19. MEDALS AND PRIZES Division winners (Male Female) and the best Tubekite compétitor may receive additional trophies depending on entry level. Medals or trophies shall be awarded to the first three competitors. 1, 2, 3 M+F (Overall: Foilkite + Tubekite): PRIZE MONEY + AWARDS 1, 2, 3 M+F (Tubekite): AWARDS 20.
