Trainee information Before you start: The assessor/verifier will meet with you and talk about what you need to do. Read through the Careerforce workplace learning and assessment guide if you need more information about the assessment process. As you go: Follow instructions for each task. Answer all questions. When you finish: Make sure you have completed any parts where the assessor/verifier has said you need more work. Appeals If you wish to appeal against the assessment result or process, talk to your assessor. If you are still not satisfied, you can appeal to Careerforce by completing the assessment result appeal form that can be found online at www.careerforce.org.nz/contact/forms Feedback Careerforce regularly reviews our assessment and learning resources. Definitions Anatomy is the study, classification, and description of the shape, structure, positions (location), and interrelation of the systems and associated organs of the human body. Anatomy and physiology (US 27457 v3) Trainee Assessment Careerforce Issue 2.0 June 2015 4

Task One: The human body This task has questions about the following six body systems: cardio-vascular. respiratory. musculo-skeletal. endocrine. nervous. digestive (gastro-intestinal). 1 For each body system you will name and describe the anatomy (parts) of the system and the associated organs. 2 For each body system describe the physiology (functions) of the system and the associated organs, what are its functions? You may choose to answer questions for the above systems or you may wish to describe other systems. Other systems might include: urinary. reproductive. skin. sensory. immune. another system you identify yourself. If you choose your own body systems (this can be none or up to all 6) you need to attach your own documentation and include enough detail to cover the following: 1 For each body system you choose you must name and describe the anatomy (parts) of the system and the associated organs. 2 For each body system you choose you must describe the physiology (functions) of the system and the associated organs i.e. what does it do? Refer to the layout of the systems in this assessment as guidance so you know what to include. Anatomy and physiology (US 27457 v3) Trainee Assessment Careerforce Issue 2.0 June 2015 5
