HISTORY PT. Karya Delka Maritim shipyard has been in operation since 2003 at the strategical position of North Sumatra, Belawan - Medan which was the entry tip point to Indonesia from middle east and south east asia sea route. Located at just 15 minutes boat ride from Medan, the shipyard is tremendeously strategic and giving so much advantage to the customers. With a land coverage of 100 hectares, the lean area for ships are more than enough. Being in the shipping business for more than 3 decades, the founder of PT. Karya Delka Maritim was an industry veteran of anything related to ship peripherals that possesed vast boatyard experience. At PT. Karya Delka Maritim, we build the tradition of quality workmanship, customer service and affordable rates to west Indonesian sea transportation ships. From just 1 graving dock at the first of its' establishment, now PT. Karya Delka Maritim is comprised of 3 graving docs, all supported with repair and fabrication facilities all committed to the company values of Integrity, Customer Service and Pride. Currently, we make up North Sumatra s most extensive array of docks, slipways, steel fabrication shops, outfit and machine shops and blast and also paint facilities.

The main idea behind the establishment of PT Karya Delka Maritim is that Indonesia is an archipelago country with thousands islands that needs a good sea transportation system to connect them, which is cheaper than air transportation. As per 2003, Indonesian flag vessels are more than 7,000 units, which are not included navy and foreign flag vessels operated by Indonesian companies. This number will increase continuously as directly proportional to the potential of shipyard serving as repair docks. The improper balance between number of vessels operated in Indonesia versus the number of dockyard facilities available are indeed our opportunity to excel in the shipyard business. Since there is only about 15 dockyards available across the country by far, and yet vessels can not wait to be docked at certain period annually, therefore ship owners have to queue for a long time to get dock space for their vessels. As for the above conditions, PT. REPAIR DOCK SERVICES THE COMPLETE FULL REALM OF REPAIR DOCK SERVICES FOR THE ADVANTAGE OF OUR CUSTOMERS. PT. Karya Delka Maritim provide full repair service facility providing repairs and even ship building service to all types of vessels. We can accommodate vessels from 300 to 20.000 DWT in length and up to 170 m. We are the integrated shipyard in Belawan, Medan that is committed to providing the top level of services and expertise for all its clients' boating needs. We also provide, Towing and Salvage We can dispatch our tug and personnel at a moment s notice to any location near Belawan, Medan. We also do boat disposal. Free in-yard estimates or at your boat for a nominal travel fee. We have extensive experience with minor and major repairs resulting from collisions, groundings and damages resulting from insurable events. PT. Karya Delka Maritim s standard ship repair services are as follow. GENERAL SERVICE General work consist of body and surface assessment, check up, cleaning, blasting, servicing exterior corrossion, paint works and general valve fastening and checking. HULL & BODY From individual blister repair to a complete hull peel and new bottom application. Servicing, replacement, installation, elimination; transducer installations. ANCHOR & CHAIN Overhauling of each chain shackle, joining and kenter shackle. Cleaning and blasting anchor surface, anchor replacement. ANODE REPLACEMENT Anode replacement for protection of buried or submerged metal structures from rust & corrosion. SEA CHEST & VALVE Replacement of protective grates and baffles. Pressure washing and sand blasting, application of copperbased epoxy paint or galvanizing. PLATING Partial areal plating - replacement - welding and replacement of eye plate, handrail repair. Rest assured to all our customers, when vessels docked at PT. KDM, all civil engineering and ship repairs services are insured by Asuransi Ramayana.

ENGINE & EQUIPMENTS All type of gas / diesel engine service, repair and rebuilding including complete engine repowers and transmission rebuilding / replacements. PROPULSION SYSTEM All kinds of driveline components - blades, shaft and prop servicing, cutlass bearings, struts, alignments, shaft logs (conventional/drip-less), rudder packing/seals/bearings. STEERING SYSTEM Repair parts for mechanical steering helms, cables and engine connection. Improve performance for faster response or lower steering effort. WIRING & ELECTRICAL Diagnostic and repair services, electrolysis source detection and prevention, 12v, 120v and 220 volt applications, battery servicing and replacement, interior lighting, galley equipment, underwater lights, charging systems. PARTS & SUPPLIES We provide extensive range of parts and supplies from deck parts, engine parts, electrical, marine safety appliances, bolts, fasteners to various hardware / tools and even food supplies for boat crew.
