Pre-Project Post-Project City of Rancho Palos Verdes Community evelopment epartment Construction and emolition ebris Waste Management Requirements PROJECT TYPE Introduction State law requires that each California city and county divert at least 50% of all solid waste away from landfills by means of source reduction, recycling, and composting (diversion) activities. The City of Rancho Palos Verdes' policy for the reduction and recycling of construction and demolition (C&) waste and/or the California Green Building Code requires at least 50% diversion for new buildings and 100% diversion for all land clearing projects: 1) All new buildings; 2) All private construction projects over $100,000 in value involving construction, remodeling or demolition; 3) All municipal projects; and 4) All land clearing projects. A Waste Management Plan is to be submitted to the Community evelopment epartment for private projects and to the Public Works epartment for municipal projects or projects on public property. The contents of this packet constitute a Waste Management Plan. This packet is designed to track the amount of C& debris diverted or disposed for your project. Its contents are as follows: Page 2 is the PROJECT INFORMATION form. This form asks for basic project information, such as type, description, size, valuation, and applicant contact information. Page 3 is the PRE-PROJECT WORKSHEET form. Using your own estimates or the conversion factors provided in the table, you must identify the weight of the C& debris, by material type, that will be recycled, reused, salvaged, disposed or transformed. Page 4 is a LIST OF FACILITIES that accept C& materials for recycling. This list was developed to assist you in finding local facilities to use as an alternative to disposal. Page 5 is a LIST OF HAULERS that are authorized to collect solid waste in RPV. You must use one of these haulers if contracting for trash service.
