Systems Engineering Then and Now Celebrating 20 years of INCOSE UK Dear Delegate, This year marks the 20 th Anniversary of the formation of INCOSE UK and we are looking forward to welcoming you to our (ASEC2014) taking place at the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford, Shifnal, Shropshire TF11 8UP. The two-day event promises to be bigger and better than ever bringing together, as it does, world-class presenters and practitioners to highlight and celebrate how Systems Engineering has added value to the wider enterprise in the past, and how it will influence the future. Enclosed is important information which it is hoped will assist you when planning your journey and preparing for the conference. If you are staying in hotel accommodation on 17 th November please go directly to your hotel. Delegate Accommodation Haughton Hall Hotel - Shifnal, Shropshire TF11 8HG. Tel: 0195468300 http://www.haughtonhall.com/ Haughton Hall Hotel and Leisure Club is situated in the rural Shropshire. Dating from 1718, Haughton Hall sits in 35 acres of gardens, woodlands and boasts a lake. Each of the 37 rooms have en-suite facilities, the latest flat screen LCD televisions offering both wireless and broadband internet access, direct dial telephones, hairdryers and complimentary refreshments. Leisure facilities include a 15 metre heated swimming pool with separate spa, Jacuzzi, fully equipped gymnasium for total body conditioning, plus a steam room and sauna lounge. The oak panelled bar is tastefully furnished and offers a selection of contemporary meals served from midday until late. Nearby Telford also offers a further selection of bars and restaurants. Directions By Road From M6 South Leave the M6 at junction 10a which merges south onto the M54. At junction 4 take first left (lone sign reading Shifnal). At the first roundabout turn left. Haughton Hall is situated on this road. From M6 North Leave the M6 at junction 12 and follow the north signs for Telford and the M54. Turn off at junction 4 and follow the directions as above. By Train For those arriving by train there is a direct line from Birmingham New Street to Shifnal taking approximately 40 minutes. Details of this service can be found on www.thetrainline.com. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the railway station.

Hotel Parking The hotel offer free parking for residents. You will be required to supply the hotel with details of your vehicle. Check-in and check-out Check-in time at the Haughton Hall Hotel is from 15.00 and check-out time is by 11.00. For delegates who are staying in Haughton Hall Hotel and arriving directly at the conference on 18 th November we are able to complete check-in information on your behalf and register your car details if appropriate. Room Keys will then be collected on your behalf. Haughton Hall Hotel Shuttle Bus For those delegates who have booked the shuttle service, it will take delegates to and from RAF Museum Cosford to Shifnal hotels. Venue and Travel Information Royal Air Force Museum Cosford, Shifnal, Shropshire TF11 8UP By Road Cosford is centrally located with good motorway access from the M6 southbound (Junction 12) via the A5, one mile from junction 3 on the M54 for northbound travellers. The Museum is only thirty minutes from the centre of Birmingham and ten minutes from Telford. There is a large car park on the site. On A41, less than one mile from junction 3 on the M54 From the south leave M6 at junction 10a From the north leave M6 at junction 12 and follow A5 west The Museum also has brown and white tourism direction signs labelled 'RAF Museum'. Please note, there is a height restriction of 12ft 9in under the railway bridge approaching the airfield. Sat Nav Users Please note, not all systems recognise the RAF Museum Cosford postcode TF11 8UP. Please use WV7 3EU as an alternative and follow museum signs on approach.

Parking at the Museum There is reserved parking available at the venue which is indicated on the map below. Delegates will be directed to the reserved parking on entry to the site. Please ensure when you park that you display the car parking pass in your car. All vehicles will need to clearly display an ASEC car pass in order to avoid being fined. If you intend to leave your vehicle overnight you must supply us with your car registration in advance. It is essential that details are lodged with the military guard force. Failure to comply with this instruction may result in your vehicle being removed. Delegates directed from here ASEC parking Between Cold War And War Planes Hangar s Fire Precautions The Museum's collections are priceless and highly flammable. The Royal Air Force Museum therefore has stringent fire regulations. These regulations forbid smoking and the use of any external flame in any part of the Museum. Delegates should be aware that smoke detectors are operational throughout the Museum Museum opening hours The Museum is open to the public from 10.00 to 17.00 seven days a week. On Tuesday 18 th November all hangars apart from Hangar 1 at the Museum will remain open from 17.00 to 18.30 allowing ASEC 2014 delegates to view the exhibits. Hangar 1 will open at 18.30 for Pre-Dinner drinks and viewing.

ASEC2014 Event Information On 17 th November Conference Icebreaker drinks will be served in the Park Inn Telford from 17.30 to 18.30. ASEC2014 delegates and Beta Exam participants are cordially invited to attend. Pre-registration for the conference will also be available for those attending. Please note that no transport is provided for this networking event. Conference Registration Please do your best to arrive in good time to allow for registration, collection of delegate packs and badges etc. Registration is open from 08.00 each day. Name badges An official delegate badge is required for entry to the conference rooms and will be issued at registration please wear it at all times. Meals Lunch is provided and tea / coffee will be available throughout the day. The Conference Dinner takes place on Tuesday night in Hangar 1 at RAF Museum Cosford and is included in the conference fee. Breakfast is included within the price of the hotel rooms. On Monday and Wednesday night, dinner is not included in the price of the hotel rooms. Afternoon Options The conference afternoon sessions offer the opportunity for delegates to choose between different options within the conference. The options are: The main conference theatre offers back to back sessions of two presentations, each covering contemporary topics expected to be of general interest to the audience, with a tea break half way through. There are two tutorials running each day in parallel to the main conference session. These need to be booked in advance. Details of these can be found in the ASEC 2014 brochure.

You will have selected your option for each day during the booking process. Please remember which option you have selected. You can find out which break-out room to go to in the Event Handbook (issued at registration) or at the registration desk. Places are limited for the parallel sessions and tutorials by room capacities, so please ensure that you attend the one(s) that you booked. Annual General Meeting Those attending on Tuesday 18 th November are reminded that the INCOSE AGM will take place from 16.30 to 17:00 immediately after the event programme has finished for the day. Pre- Dinner Drinks Prior to the Event Dinner on Tuesday 18th, pre-dinner drinks will be held in Hangar 1 at 18:30. Delegates will be offered a complimentary drink at this networking event after which a cash bar will be in operation. Mobile Phones Please ensure that your mobile is switched off during conference proceedings. Event Wi-fi Wi-fi is available to ASEC2014 delegates in a designated area. This is located in the refreshment area of the Cold War Hangar. Delegates wishing to use this facility will need to ask at the registration desk for an access code. Wi-fi will also be available in Hangar 1 for the duration of the Event Dinner. Event Dress Code Please note the following guidelines for ASEC 2014 dress code; During the conference we would ask delegates to wear business attire suitable for formal meetings with clients or suppliers (e.g. for men this would be a suit, shoes, shirt and tie). During the conference dinner we would like to ask delegates to wear casual clothing suitable for eating out in a reasonably priced restaurant (e.g. for men this would be a shirt, with smart trousers and shoes). If you d rather wear a dinner jacket or a cocktail dress then please do so.
