PERFORCE Progress Meeting 3 and Winter School in Stockholm First Announcement The PERFORCE progress meeting and winter school will be held at the Stockholm University in Stockholm, Sweden. The university is located in a National City Park, just north of Stockholm city. The meeting and winter school will be held from 11-14th December 2005. An additional associated membership meeting will take place on the 15 th of December. The winter school (Tuesday and Wednesday) will be on environmental fate modelling (EFM), molecular modelling (MM) and QSAR. Below you will find practical information. More information on social activities and a more detailed schedule for the meeting and workshop will follow in December. The hotel is located 200 meters from the subway station Östermalmstorg which is three stations away from the university station on the red subway line. Single rooms are 998 SEK/night, including breakfast. There is also a possibility to share rooms. Please fill in the attached registration form, and send this back as soon as possible, but not later than the 11 th of November. Travel Directions Coming to Stockholm by air you can arrive at Arlanda Airport or Skavsta Airport. To/From Arlanda: From Arlanda airport a shuttle bus (Flygbussarna) leaves for the city centre (40 min ride, fare 89 SEK one-way, 170 SEK return ticket). To/From Skavsta: From Skavsta airport a shuttle bus (Flygbussarna) leaves for the city centre 30 min after the plane has landed (80 min ride, fare 130 SEK one-way, 199 SEK return ticket). Further information can be found on the web page: http://www.flygbussarna.se/en/default.asp Taxis are available from the airport to Stockholm city and the hotels (60 min ride, fare around SEK 1300.-). Public Transport: Buying single tickets for public transport is expensive in Stockholm. Best value for money is to buy reduced price coupons ( Rabattkuponger ), 145 SEK for 20 coupons. They are valid on subways and buses. To the Hotel: Take the red subway line from Central station towards Ropsten or Mörby Centrum. Get off at the next station, Östermalmstorg and take the exit in the middle of the platform. Head for Nybrogatan, and you will find your hotel 200 m up the street (see enclosed map) To Campus: Take the red subway line towards Mörby Centrum. Get off at Universitetet station. The ITM-building is 10 min walk from the subway station, see enclosed map. The first day (Monday) somebody from ITM will meet up all the participants outside the subway station Universtitetet and we walk together to ITM. Welcome! 3
