URGENT CARE FELLOWSHIP Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center and the Family Medicine Residency Program TITLE: DESCRIPTION: FELLOWSHIP DIRECTOR: Urgent Care Fellowship The urgent care fellowship is a one-year program that combines longitudinal experience at urgent care sites, specialty rotations and didactic training. One fellowship position is available beginning August of each year. Urgent Care Fellowship Description This is a 12-month PGY4 fellowship, beginning August 1 of each year under the auspices of Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center and the Family Medicine Residency Program. We anticipate having 1 or 2 Fellows in the program each year. The Fellowship is a collaboration between Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, the Family Medicine Residency Program, the Department of Emergency Medicine, CEP America and the Urgent Care Association of America. It is offered to graduates of an accredited Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Residency program who wish to further their knowledge base and enhance their procedural skills in the growing specialty of Urgent Care Medicine. This fellowship will focus on the advanced training necessary for a successful career in Urgent Care Medicine. The Fellowship combines clinical rotations, didactic sessions and seminars, research and CME conference experiences. The focus of the Fellowship will be the management of acute illness and injury in the Urgent Care setting. Emphasis will be placed on orthopedics, radiology, trauma care, occupational medicine as well as adult and pediatric emergencies. There will be opportunities for teaching and for research. During the course of the 1-year program there will be an effort to secure future employment for the Fellow. Supervision for the program will be provided by the clinical staff of Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center s Department of Emergency Medicine under the direction of its Fellowship Director, Kenneth Moore M.D. in collaboration with the Director of Academic Affairs and Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency, Lynne Diamond M.D. Interested parties and other inquiries should be directed to Dr. Moore by e-mail kennethmoore@cep.com.
