1 CAE-ICCU On-Site Seminars CAE-ICCU offers a variety of bedside ultrasound training seminars designed to teach basic principles of the sonographic exam being used as an extension to the physical examination. Seminars are addressed to physicians with or without prior ultrasound experience, including intensivists, ER physicians, anesthesiologists, surgeons, cardiologists, nurse practitioners, etc. All seminars are provided by highly trained critical care physicians and certified sonographers. On-site seminars can be given directly at your medical facility. Seminars and e-learning are endorsed by the Université de Montréal, the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP), the Canadian Critical Care Society (CCS), and the Critical Care Education Network (CRI). Seminars and e-learning are recognized for CME credits by the Université de Montréal, by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and by the American Medical Association. Seminar content may be tailored to your institutional needs. E-Learning curriculum endorsed by the American College of Chest Physicians as a mandatory step in their critical care ultrasound certification program. What is required from you: A minimum of 10 participants is required to schedule a seminar. The seminar is given directly in your medical facility. Lead time to organize a course is 1 to 3 months. Registration fees vary depending on the number of participants and the type of seminar chosen. You are responsible for the following at your own expense: 1. To find a room allocated for both didactic and practical sessions. 2. Provide a digital projector and screen for the didactic session. 3. Provide human models for the practical session. 4. Provide stretchers or tables with mattresses for the models to lie down on. 5. Organize meals and refreshments (if desired) for your group throughout the day. Once a seminar is confirmed and booked, an event coordinator will contact you with the program breakdown and will guide you through the requirements.

2 Seminars All seminars are offered with e-learning curricula. Benefits of combining seminars with e-learning curriculum: This solution provides the participant with a much more in-depth understanding and integration of the curriculum content and makes the hands-on sessions and overall experience more valuable. As the participants will have reviewed the e-learning curriculum prior to attending, seminars are highly-practical and consist of almost only hands-on time. Institutional license provides individual licenses for all participants at a reduced group price and allows the institution to access stats of all the participants: view scores, time taken to perform tests, areas where more work is needed, and other useful metrics. Free trial of the material may be viewed at the following website: e-learning curricula description: The e-learning complete curriculum consists of 17 hours of cutting edge multimedia material and 800 interactive questions built to optimize learning. It is is divided into a cardiac curriculum Focus Cardiac Ultrasound Study and a non-cardiac curriculum «General Ultrasonography». The Focus Cardiac Ultrasound Study, consists of 8 hours of material divided in 6 courses and 36 modules with more than 500 interactive questions built to optimize learning. The General Ultrasonography, consists of a full curriculum on Assessment of Central and Peripheral Vessels focused on assessment of central and peripheral vessels to learn the anatomy, DVT assessment, ultrasound guidance, etc. The course consists of 5 ½ hours of cutting edge materials divided in 3 courses and 26 modules with more than 200 interactive questions built to optimize learning. It also includes the curriculum on Assessment of the pleural space and lung that consists of 2.5 hours of multimedia material divided in 7 modules with 135 interactive questions. 3 The practical sessions consist of scanning with portable ultrasound devices on human models. The ratio is 1 ultrasound machine per group of 3-4 people, ensuring that each participant receives ample practice time. A portion of the hands-on session will include practicing on a high fidelity echocardiography simulator that allows participants to scan various acute cardiac pathologies and on lower end simulators (phantoms) for the practice of echo-guidance.
