Schenker AB strong player in a global network Schenker AB has 4 000 employees in 30 offices in Sweden. We offer everything from land transport and international ocean and air freight, to consultancy services and storage and logistics solutions. In Sweden many people associate us with truck transportation, which is where we have our roots. But we have developed strongly in other types of transport such as boat, air and train and within integrated logistics solutions. We also see a lot of potential for the future. The global company Schenker was started over 100 years ago by Gottfried Schenker in Vienna, Austria. Early on he saw the advantages of public transport of goods of loading goods from different consignors together. That is still the basis for our operations. Being able to offer a fast, reliable transport system can be an important argument in your contact with customers. Groupage results in cost-effective, climate sustainable transport. We call it public transport of goods when cargo from several suppliers are gathered in the load. Customise using our options You can specially adapt your transports using our options services. On request, we contact the consignee before delivery, deliver your goods at a specified time and ensure that your goods are not exposed to frost. E-solutions for large and small Our broad range of e-solutions is suitable for both large and small companies. This gives you further advantages, such as being able to track your goods. (eco-driving, reduced speed), New vehicles, Better fuels and Inter-/co-modality. Road safety is another aspect of sustainabilty for Schenker also here driver behavior is one of the key aspects. Schenker work closely together with the subcontractors to change the attitude towards speeding. Own vehicles are equipped with alco-locks. Simple and efficient in Sweden and Europe DB SCHENKERsystem facilitates transport planning and offers your customers good service and clear information about when the goods will be delivered. We deliver efficiently in Sweden as well as in the rest of Europe, thanks to Schenker s strong network. We have our own offices in many locations and therefore goods will be collected and delivered by drivers who know the district. Personnel at the terminals and offices are employed by Schenker, which means that we have full control over the whole transport chain. You also talk to the same people when you book your transport because the booking office is close to you. Schenker s e-services for domestic and international It s a great advantage to use Schenker s IT support. We have solutions that facilitate your administration significantly and they are completely free of charge. Using our e-services you can book transport for both domestic and international consignments. For domestic consignments you can also find statistics, create and print invoices and make invoice checks. When you have more extensive transport requirement with large volumes of goods we help you with integrated solutions for business systems. We are everywhere It is important for us to be near you and to offer a high level of service. We therefore collect and deliver goods from and to all locations, even if they are remote and/or difficult to reach. This applies to both Sweden and the rest of Europe. You can make price enquiries, see departures and arrival times, follow your goods and print out signed transport documents (e-pod). 5
Customised solutions To allow you to offer your customers the service that suits their needs exactly we offer a number of DB SCHENKERsystem options. Notification for domestic goods is a common option and means that we inform the consignee when the goods are on their way. If you want to deliver the goods at an exact time there are several alternatives. For example, Top 10/Express the goods are delivered before 10 am the day after collection. We insure your goods We also deal with extra insurance for your goods if you wish. Options in Europe A common option for Europe is our customs clearance services, where we deal with all types of clearance for both import and export.
