Why Recycle Water? Financial Benefit - Recycled water rates are set below potable Public Relations - Green business practices, LEED Maintain Normal Operations -Drought proof water supply, reliable water quality with potable water as backup supply Progressive - replace drinking water source by using alternate supply Sustainable - Contribute to South San Francisco Bay area environmental sustainability efforts

Program operates under multiple Cooperative Agreements: Funding through San Jose/Santa Clara Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) and through the Santa Clara Valley Water District Each City manages construction contracts within each jurisdiction. Operations and maintenance by City under contract with WPCP. 26 miles pipeline in Santa Clara, 120 miles total. South Bay Water Recycling Program
