Page 1 of 5 SUMMARY Conducts tests and sample preparation on samples received from customers or other test departments under the guidence of a Level IV Test Technician. Work schedule and priorites for specific tests/inspections to be perfomed shall be established by the Laboratory Director. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Supervise, instruct and provide training to Level I, Level II, Level III and Trainee test technicians All responsibilities of a Level II test technician. Analyzes, interprets, and evaluates test data and prepares technical reports using various software programs (e.g. Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, etc.) for delivery to the customer. Establish test and inspection techniques and/or procedures Interpret codes, standards, specifications and procedures. Interface with customers regarding test requirements and results. Reviews orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations. Determines conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations. Directs and exercises control over operational, functional, and performance phases of tests. Confers with scientific, engineering, and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data and data interpretation. Analyzes and interprets test data and prepares technical reports for use by engineering and management personnel. Develops or uses computer software and hardware to conduct tests on test samples. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Examines samples for conformance to specifications and quality standards. Demonstrates methods and trains workers in sequence of processing tasks and operation and control of machines and equipment.

Maintains time and production records, and prepares cost, yield, breakage, and maintenance reports. Inventories and requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies for department activities. Recommends measures to improve quality of test/inspection methods and equipment performance Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Confers with managers and supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. Authority to control further processing or delivery of non-conforming product until any deficiency has been corrected. Direct and monitor the quality system goals, procedures and policies for test/inspection of customer product. Direct and monitor the quality system goals, procedures and policies for purchasing required materials for test/inspection, and for shipping and receiving in the laboratory area. Continue ongoing training, education, and seminars to increase computer, communication and organizational skills. Continue ongoing technical training to increase knowledge and understanding of the tests/inspections performed at Microtek. Perform monthly equipment maintenance on equipment trained and approved for testing as indicated in employee s training records. Perform test and/or inspections as required on all tests/inpections trained and approved for as indicated in employee s training records.

Page 3 of 5 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises and trains Level I, II, and Trainee test technicians in the Laboratory. When assigned, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's quality policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Ability to do complex data analysis, plot fitting and data interpolations.

Page 4 of 5 REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS There is no current requirement for certificates, licenses or registrations.
