Smith Studios Camp Broadway Jr. Policies 2015 Welcome to Camp Broadway Jr! Weʼre so glad youʼre here and are excited about this yearʼs performances. This year, all performances and rehearsals will take place at Providence Academy, 2788 Carroll Creek Road, Johnson City, TN 37615. Rehearsals will be from 9:30-3:30, Monday through Friday, June 15th-27th. Because we have such limited rehearsal time, all cast members will be expected to attend all rehearsal hours. Performances will be June 27 at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. (please note the time change from previous years) Attendance Students are expected to attend each day of camp all day. Students who must miss any portion of the rehearsal period must discuss the situation prior to the day of the absence. The best way to inform the director of an absence is by listing conflicts on the registration form or by e-mail. Students who miss without notifying the director prior to the day of the absence may be recast. Tuition Cost for registrations received before April 25 is $235* per child. Cost for registrations received after April 25 is $275* per child. Your $50 non-refundable deposit is due when you turn in your registration form. The remainder of your tuition is due May 30. Late payments will receive a $20 late fee. *deposit is included in this price. Auditions Students will audition for casting assignments. Auditions will be on May 22 and 23 at Smith Studios NEW LOCATION (601 E. Unaka Ave, Johnson City, TN 37601). Should a student need an alternate audition date, they should contact the director and schedule an alternate audition prior to May 22. Lunch Students need to bring a sack lunch. We do have microwave access this year. Students who bring microwaveable items will be expected to heat their own lunches and will be responsible for clean up. Please send plenty of water with your child. We will have a morning and afternoon snack break each day. Tickets Included in this packet is a ticket sales form. In our experience, the people who come to see kids perform are people who are linked to the kids in the performance. Smith Studios will be advertising the performances, but the best way to fill the house is for you to invite friends. Here are some incentives. For every 10 tickets a student sells, they will receive 2 complimentary tickets. This allows families to earn an unlimited number of complimentary tickets! 1

Attire Students should wear clothes and shoes that they are comfortable dancing and moving in. No flip flops and absolutely no bare feet! Once weʼre rehearsing in costume, there will be one changing room for girls, and one changing room for guys. Students may wish to wear shorts and a tank top that cannot be seen under your costume. Scripts Scripts will be given to you when your tuition is paid in full. Students get to keep their scripts. Distractions Cell phones will not be permitted onstage at all. Usage during rehearsal time is also not permitted. If this becomes a problem, cell phones may be collected for the remainder of the day. Cell phone usage is allowed only during lunch and scheduled snack breaks. The same applies to other distractions like gaming devices, ipods, books, etc. Performance Day We will send out a performance day schedule as we get closer to June 27. Students should plan on being at the theatre from approximately 9:00-5:0. The house will open 30 minutes prior to show time. Parents/audience members are not allowed in the house before this time. Work Days We will be having a few work days at Smith Studios to prepare sets. We would love students and/or parents to help on these days! Dates are TBA. We are happy to sign off on community service hours for high school students for these days. Memorization Students are expected to be memorized and off book by the second Monday of camp. It is a good idea to start working on memory A.S.A.P. Payments All payments are non refundable and non transferable. Video Smith Studios will not videotape any performances and will not act as a liaison between students and any videographer. 2

Please list any conflicts (and reasons for conflicts) that you have with the two week rehearsal period. Keep in mind, conflicts affect casting. Liability and Photo Release I understand that with all physical activities there is risk. Smith Studios will not be held liable for injuries or lost items. Smith Studios reserves the right to use photos for promotional items and advertisements in both print and online venues.
