If you use your home PC, you must run a CUHKNet VPN connection over your subscribed ISP network to connect your PC to the campus network. 1.3 Your PC must meet the system requirement as specified at here. 1.4 Go to the download page to download Kaspersky Anti-Virus Workstations Version 6.0.4.1611: Programme File License Key File Configuration File 1.5 You will be redirected to License Agreement page. Read the agreement carefully and click "I AGREE" if you accept this agreement. 1.6 Fill in the registration form for verification. 1.7 Upon completion of the form, click "Submit form" and the verification will proceed and bring to you below download screen. 2 Install Kaspersky Anti-Virus Before the installation, you should first a. Back up your important files in other media like CD-R so that you can retrieve your data files in case of corruption during the installation. (Recommended) b. Disconnect your current Campus Network or other Internet connection. c. Uninstall your current version of Kaspersky or any other anti-virus software. d. Restart your computer (without any network connection) before installing Kaspersky Anti-Virus Version 6.0.4.1611. 1. Double-click to open the exe file you have just downloaded from ITSC website. 2. The Welcome to the Install Shield Wizard for Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations window should appear. 3. Choose a location to save your files. You are recommended to keep the default location. Then click Next to extract the setup files. Page 2 of 13
4. After extracting files, the setup wizard of Kaspersky Anti-Virus will appear. Click Next to continue. 5. Read the End User License Agreement and then select I accept the terms of the License Agreement 6. Select the Destination Folder to install Kaspersky Anti-Virus. You are recommended to keep the default location of Destination Folder. Page 3 of 13
7. Select Complete from Choose Setup Type. 8. Select Keep Windows Firewall enabled since Microsoft Windows Firewall is enough for anti-virus protection. Then click Next. 9. Check the box Protect the installation process if necessary. ** When self-defense is enabled, remote control over the software will be prohibited. Click Install. Page 4 of 13
10. If the file has been installed successfully, the Installation complete message will appear. Click Next to activate the software. 3 Activate Kaspersky Anti-Virus 1. To import the license file, choose Activate using the key file. 2. Click Browse to find the Key file you have downloaded before (Refer to Download Kaspersky Anti-Virus point 4). And click Next. 3. The message Key file successfully installed will be shown on the screen. You will see the Expiration date. Click Finish. 4 Modify the Settings for Kaspersky Anti-Virus Please follow the steps below in order to finish the installation. When the installation is finished, modifications of those settings can be further done by importing the.cfg file into the software. 1. For interactive protection, select Basic protection (recommended for most users). Page 6 of 13
2. Select Every 2 hour(s) for Update mode. Then click Next. 3. Select scan methods according to your need. * You are recommended to scan your computer with Kaspersky Anti-Virus regularly in order to protect your computer. Click Next to continue. Page 7 of 13
4. Check Enable password protection if necessary. You can set a password to prevent others from modifying the program settings. 5. Click Next twice to continue. Page 8 of 13
6. The message Installation complete will be shown. Check Restart computer and click Finish. Your computer would then restart. 5 After Installation a. Configuration 1. In order to load the recommended configuration file, click Settings at the top right hand corner. Page 9 of 13
2. Click Load under Application settings management. 3. Find out the configuration file (.cfg) that you have downloaded from ITSC website (Refer to Download Kaspersky Anti-Virus point 4). Then click Open. Page 10 of 13

Click Apply to apply the configuration file settings. 6 Update with the Latest Product Components To protect your PC against new viruses, spam, and other kinds of harmful things, you should update the anti-virus software regularly. By default, Kaspersky Anti-Virus will perform updates automatically. However, if you want to update it manually, you can follow the steps below. 1. Have your network connection ready and right-click system tray. at the Then click Update. Page 11 of 13

4. The update will automatically run. When the update is completed, click Close to close the window.
