HISTORY OF OPAS 1974: OPAS established as a joint-stock family company to produce automobile contact sets in Istanbul and the OEM production to Renault & Fiat groups in Turkish Automotive Industry. 1982: License agreement signed with German Doduco company for contact sets production and worldwide sales. 1991: Condensers, distributor caps, rotors, ignition coils and ignition cable sets lines have been developed by our own engineers. 1995: Complete moulds, machinery and raw material of DODUCO Gmbh Corporation was sent to Opas with the incitement of Turkish Government. (Vereinbarung zur Produktionsverlagerung Unterbrecherkontakte) OEM production of contact sets for Doduco Germany has been started. 1996: Doduco Germany has been acquired by Beru Group. Supply agreement signed with Beru Germany. Bosch & Beru audit at OPAS. 5/15
HISTORY OF OPAS 1998: DIN-EN ISO 9000 Quality Certificate was given by German DQS Quality Certification Company. (IQNET) 2004: OPAS has signed a supply-sole distributorship agreement with SMP-USA (Standart Motor Products Europe USA and SMP UK by Intermotor) Condenser machines and tools sent by Intermotor-UK to OPAS. Sole Distributorship (exclusivity) agreement consist brands of Four-Seasons, Intermotor, Lucas, Lemark, Hotwire for Turkish market and distributorship for 23 countries. 2005 The result of merging Borgwarner and Beru Rupert Gmbh, our company became supplier of contact set/condenser of Borgwarner Beru Gmbh. 6/15
HISTORY OF OPAS After 2010 OPAS has started to do business for new generation cars. OPAS import coils, sensors, maf sensors and EGR valves from the current suppliers like Intermotor, SMP UK, BERU AG Gmbh and from the far east countries which both parts are negetiated under supplier quality agreements. The testing laboratuary was established by our R.D. department. The lab can provide 100% test of all types of dry ignition coils, sensors or EGR valves. The company was manufacturing only ignition systems for automotives in its early years. OPAS product line includes distributors and magneto point sets, distributor caps, different types of capacitors, ignition coil sets and distribitor rotors, heavy-duty induction coils, new age ignition coils, sensors, lambda sensors and flow meters. 7/15
HISTORY OF OPAS 2013: OPAS has been long time supplier to BorgWarner BERU and Fedaral Mogul aftermarket. Thanks to its management policy and its ideals about not compromising on quality, OPAS was awarded with the certificate of quality: TS EN ISO 9001:2008 by both the IQNET and the Turkish Standards Institution. Dedication to research, engineering and testing 100% pushed forward the company to produce all components of ignition systems within its wide range of products. 2014: OPAS became the "Original Equivalent" supplier of main dealers, aftermarket and the services. 2015: Currently there is an investment strategies on the production of some of the new types of sensor groups. 8/15
