SPECIFIC TECHNICAL RESTRICTIONS AND GUIDELINES. The Technical Regulations for the Audi R8 LMS Cup are very specific with regard to the Car adjustments that are authorised (see Regulation B3.2). This document serves to provide specific parameters for a number of the adjustments. This Technical Restrictions/Guidelines document may be updated by the Organisers at anytime (including during an Event). Once issued (by Bulletin) the new version of the document becomes the only version which is valid and supersedes all past versions entirely. The most up to date version of this Technical Restrictions/Guidelines document will be listed in the Event Bulletin. If any part of the text of this Technical Restrictions/Guidelines document conflicts or contradicts that within the Regulations then the text within the Regulations shall take precedent. GENERAL ADJUSTMENTS INFORMATION. The following set-up adjustments are authorised and may be made at any time. a. Tyre pressure, within the range included in section TR1 of this Technical Restrictions/Guidelines. Further details are included within TR1 and Regulation B14.8. b. The minimum cold tyre pressure must be 1.4 bar for the front Slick tyres and 1.2 bar for the rear Slick tyres. Michelin s recommendation and instructions should be respected. Tyre pressure adjustments on the grid can only be performed by the Competitor Technical crew or representative of Michelin. Audi R8 LMS Cup 2015 3 2015 Tech. Restrictions: Mar2015_v1.0

Michelin Recommendations: Important note regarding the Customer Competition race car tires Michelin Group After a run, the delta of temperature between the inside shoulder and the outside shoulder has to be less than 20 C Exceeding of some of these data levels (e.g. camber) may cause tyre damage or a drop in performance: higher tyre wear, influence concerning balance problems (oversteer/understeer), lap times will finally also drop (less constant). One stint is equivalent to the mileage indicated (including a maximum of 2 pit stops and/or driving under pace car). At this mileage and this speed limit, the integrity of the construction is guaranteed for endurance but not for wear or grip potential. Therefore, depending on the conditions of use, a tyre: Could be worn before achieving the indicated mileage, Could be only partially worn even though the indicated mileage has been achieved. In this case, the integrity of the construction cannot be guaranteed, the tyre must be replaced. These recommendations are valid unless the tyre has been damaged for example puncture or flat spots. The recommendations regarding rain tyres are only for wet conditions and not intended for a drying track. For any use apart from the defined recommendations, please contact Circuit Michelin technical department phone: +33 (0) 4 73 30 13 03 & +33 (0) 4 73 30 21 25. Please also see the Michelin technical data sheets for these tyres. Audi R8 LMS Cup Usage Recommendations Usage: Max. TR16. TIMING TRANSPONDER REGULATION B15.4. The timing transponder supplied by the Organiser must be fitted within the inner wheel arch using the existing thread location exactly as per figure 14 below. The figure shows placement on the left but the timekeepers may stipulate either the right or the left as dictated by the circuit configuration. Figure 14: Timing Transponder location. This can be either right or left depending on the circuit. TR17. PUSH-TO-PASS SYSTEM - REGULATION A14.2. A Push-to-Pass (P2P) system was introduced for the 2014 Audi R8 LMS Cup season. This function adds to the strategic element of racing by the allowing drivers to select when to utilise additional engine power. The system offers a predefined number of activations of a predetermined duration. It is activated via the blue button mounted on the steering wheel. Figure 15: Steering wheel Push-to-Pass button. The number and duration of the activations will be adjusted at each Event and announced by Sporting Bulletin. The remaining number of activations available is indicated in the dash display as per figure 16. Audi R8 LMS Cup 2015 15 2015 Tech. Restrictions: Mar2015_v1.0

Figure 16: Dash display showing number of P2P activations remaining. The number as well as duration of the activations can only be reset and/or changed by authorised personnel. Switching the car off or any other driver action does not reset the system. The power increase is delivered via the throttle opening therefore it is only available at full throttle and not on part throttle. When the P2P button is pressed the dash display will indicate that a P2P request has been made using the blue section in the top left hand side of the display as indicated in figure 17. If all of the criteria to activate the P2P are met (revs, throttle etc.) the activation will be shown using the green section in the right hand side of the display as shown in figure 17. This will continue for the duration of the activation. The request and active messages will be shown independently. Figure 17: Dash display showing P2P request and P2P active displays. The system is activated by pressing the blue steering wheel button once (single short press and release). The dash will indicate that the P2P has been requested. It will only be activated if the throttle is fully depressed. When active the bright windscreen mounted LED indicator light will flash. A single activation is show in figure 18. Audi R8 LMS Cup 2015 16 2015 Tech. Restrictions: Mar2015_v1.0

Figure 18: Single activation of P2P. If the button is pressed again during an active phase, this input is ignored and the remaining activation is completed. This is shown in figure 19. In this case the second P2P is not used so only one activation is used. Figure 19: Second activation request that fails as first activation is still in progress. If the driver keeps the button depressed, the next activation is triggered immediately after the completion of the current procedure. There is no delay or minimum time between activations. This is shown in figure 20. The activation in figure 20 would register as two P2P activations. Figure 20: Continued P2P activation due to very long or continuous button press. The system is active from the moment that the car is switched on therefore if the button is pressed on a formation lap and the throttle is fully depressed it will register as a use. TR18. LAUNCH CONTROL - REGULATION A31.8.4. Audi Customer Racing has developed a launch control (LC) system that must be used at the start of any Standing Start race in accordance with Regulation A31.8.4. The LC limits the wheel slip to deliver consistent starts that maximise the acceleration off the line. The LC has 7 settings which are controlled by the position of the ASR switch. Only positions 1, 2 and 3 are permitted within the Audi R8 LMS Cup. This can be checked with the use of data after a race. The LC controls the engine speed prior to the start and then regulates slip up to 80km/h. The regulation is deactivated at 80 km/h, or when the throttle is lifted, or when 2 nd gear is selected. TR18.1 USING LAUNCH CONTROL. To enable the LC the following steps are taken: 1. Push Pit Limiter (cruise control) lever up for 0.5 sec. 2. Depress throttle and clutch simultaneously. 3. Lift clutch fully to start keeping the throttle at maximum. Audi R8 LMS Cup 2015 17 2015 Tech. Restrictions: Mar2015_v1.0

To cancel the LC at any time you can: 1. Lift off the throttle. 2. Shift up to 2 nd gear. 3. Push the Pit Limiter (cruise control) lever down. Figure 21 shows the LC request and LC active displays on the dash. Figure 21: Dash showing LC request and LC active. T19. VBOX LOCATION REGULATION B15.3. The VBox must be secured to the battery box in the cockpit footwell using Velcro in the location indicated in figure 22 below. Figure 22: VBox location in cockpit passenger foot well.
