K Line Offshore AH 12 CD

AH 12 CD AHTS designed by STX and delivered by STX NOL (Langsten), Norway as multi-functional ultra deep water Anchor Handling Tug Supply and service vessels. With a bollard pull of more than 350T, these vessels are ideally suited for seabed operations, ploughing/trenching and pre lay work. Fitted with an ROV hangar and ODIM LARS system for handling of inspection- and work-class ROVs used in underwater operations. The vessel are fitted with a hybrid configurated propulsion plant serving two main propellers, one retractable plus two tunnel thrusters forward and one retractable plus one tunnel thruster aft. An ODIM Anchor Recovery Frame (ARF) for handling large anchors of Torpedo type is fitted on aft deck and is flush with the main deck when in stowed position. In addition to large chain and fibre rope capacity vessels have two double jib RRM cranes with manipulators for Safe Deck Operations. These cargo rail cranes are serving the entire working area of the main deck. A 250T A-frame is available for subsea construction work. YARD NO. NAME IMO NO. MACHINERY & PROPULSION The power plant consists of two main engines with shaft alternators and five diesel generators with alternators. The main switchboard is fed by the two main engine shaft alternators and the five diesel generators with alternators. The main engines are connected to shaft lines through reduction gears and controlled pitch propellers. The reduction gears also act as PTI gears for boosting power on both shaft lines by frequency driven el motors fed from the main switchboard. Hybrid mode means a combination of both and typical operations are on DP where all propulsion units such as main screws and thrusters may be used, and transit economy mode where only one main engine with shaft alternator is used and the shaft line on the other side is powered by an electric motor through the PTI gear. All thrusters are fitted with fixed pitch propellers with variable speed by using frequency controlled motors.
