1 st TopoNorge Workshop NGU, Trondheim, March 6-7 2006 Third circular March 1 st 2006
Objectives of the workshop TopoNorge represents the Norwegian contribution to the European TopoEurope initiative that involves geoscientists from more than 20 European countries. The goal of the initiative is to build a core-program for researchers from different fields focussing on the 4D Topography Evolution of Europe (www.acadeuro.org/downloads2/topo- EUROPE%20short.ppt). The aim is to stimulate integrated research on topography from deep Earth to surface processes. The proposal for the core-program will be submitted to the European Science Foundation (ESF, http://www.esf.org) in June 2006. By nature, Norway is expected to be a major player in the forthcoming TopoEurope core-program. The main objectives of the 1 st TopoNorge workshop are: to inform about previous and on-going research; to identify new research lines; to stimulate new projects; to initiate national and international working groups. In order to reach these targets, time has been allocated to general discussions during the course of the workshop. For more info visit www.ngu.no: Projects; TopoNorge. Main topics to be addresed Geohazards and structural inheritance Isostasy and structure of the crust and the mantle Landscape evolution and climate Uplift of the Scandes and source to sink relationships. Organisers Christophe Pascal (contact: christophe.pascal_at_ngu.no), Morten Smelror, Tove Aune, Susanne Buiter, Jörg Ebbing, Ola Fredin, Fabienne Lombaerts (NGF), Odleiv Olesen, Tim Redfield 2
