SAVING your layout Go to Tools ---> Save Current Profile. (There s a windows shortcut for this. Simply click F12 on your keyboard - and everything will be saved exactly as you have set it up.) What we have here is almost the correct chart format which we will be using throughout the course. There is one more step on the next page. Remember that you can do this as many times as you like. Whichever chart you happen to be in - all you have to do is: 1. Click anywhere on the black background, 2. Select, 'Open in New Window' from the drop down menu Try it - you can have as many charts open as you like, resize them, change currencies, change time signatures, move then around your monitor and change the details. And here s the last step for the time being. To finish setting up our chart, ready for later on - take a look at this and follow these two simple steps. Good. Now don t forget to Save this set-up by going to TOOLS >> Save Current Profile - or by clicking on F12 on your keyboard. When next we open our charts, we want exactly the same set-up that we have here, without having to go through the process again. Now, a little more set-up work, we ll be needing all of this later so make sure you carefully copy each step please. 1. Click on 'Tools' in this Primary window. 2. Then select User Preferences. (You'll remember this because 'Save Current Profile' lives here too.) 3. And when the User Preferences window comes up, click on the 'Misc' Tab on the right side at the top. 4. Copy everything exactly. Double check each box. 5. Then click on Save at the bottom and Close this window. When you return to your charts you ll see that the Buy and Sell boxes (top right of the chart) are now colored, blue for Buy and orange for Sell. Now let s make it so that the charts don t keep showing a great blank screen at week-ends when the market is closed, by setting when we want to stop recording for the week-end. Let s repeat what we did on the last page by clicking on 'Tools' --> 'User Preferences' and this time click on the 'CHART' tab at the top left.. I'd like you now to make sure that your Daily Candle Start-And-End-Time is set to New York (wherever you live) and carefully copy everything else in this window - and do double check that you have copied it correctly.
