Self-Paced Polling with Insight 360 1 SELF-PACED POLLING WITH INSIGHT 360 Plan Installing the Software 1 Turn on the classroom computer. 2 Select the DVD that is compatible with your computer s operating system (Mac or Windows) and insert it into the computer. 3 Follow the on-screen installation instructions. Registering/Activating Insight 360 Registering the Insight 360 software ensures you receive the most current firmware updates and have full access to customer support. You have 30 days to register the software or you will be locked out of Insight 360. 1 Open Insight 360. 2 From the Insight 360 Home tab, click the blue Reminder: link in the Message Center. Alternatively, click Settings and then click Registration/Activation. 3 Enter the required information. 4 Click Submit. Be sure your email is valid and spelled correctly. The activation code will be sent to this email address. The Software Registration Code is the serial number located on the Insight 360 DVD case. 5 Click OK. After a few minutes, check your email for the activation code. 6 Click Activate. 7 In the Enter Activation code box, enter the activation code sent to via email and click Submit.

Creating a New Class You must create new classes in the Insight 360 software. 1 Click the My Classes tab and click Classes. 2 Click (Add Class). 3 In Class Name, type the name of the new class. 4 In Course ID, use the assigned course identification number or type a new course ID. 5 Optionally, in Period, type the code for the time slot this class will be taught. Usually a digit between 0 (zero) and 10, but any alphanumeric characters can be used. 6 Optionally, in Section, type the alphanumeric code representing this class section. 7 In Start Date, type the course start date in format MM/DD/YYYY or click the calendar icon to select the course start date. 8 Repeat step 7 in End Date.
Self-Paced Polling with Insight 360 3 9 In Start Time, type the course start time or use the clock icon to select the time from a drop-down box. 10 Repeat step 9 in End Time. The arrow buttons change time elements based on the cursor position within the time field. For example, click AM and then click either arrow button to change AM to PM. 11 Select the check boxes for each weekday the class will be taught. 12 Click Add/Remove Students to add students to the class. Creating an Answer Key Test Answer Key tests consist of a set of answers created and stored in Insight 360. The actual questions are not stored in Insight 360. An optional test file document containing the test questions may be attached to the Answer Key test in Insight 360. All tests reside on the classroom computer used to set up this data. It will not be accessible if you take the Mobi 360 or Insight 360 Teacher app to another classroom even if that classroom computer is running Insight 360, unless you have also set up that computer with the same classes, students, favorites and other data. 1 Open Insight 360. 2 Click the My Tests tab and click Answer Key Tests. 3 Click (Add Answer Key Test). The New Answer Key Test pane opens. 4 In Test Name, type a descriptive name for the answer key. 5 To attach a test file click Browse, navigate to the desired file and click Open. 6 In the Questions area, click (Add Question). The Question 1 pane is displayed. 7 Complete the question details as required. 8 If another question is required for this answer key, click (Add Question). Creating an ExamView Test 1 On the Insight 360 Home tab, click Launch ExamView Test Generator. OR From the My Tests tab, click ExamView Tests and click Open ExamView. ExamView Test Generator allows for the quick creation of paper, Internet and online (LAN-based) tests. You can enter your own questions and customize the appearance of tests. With its many unique features, such as the QuickTest Wizard, you can create and format a test in minutes.
Self-Paced Polling with Insight 360 4 Teach Connecting Devices Please note that while the following devices are compatible with Insight 360, not all devices are necessary. Follow the steps that apply to your classroom setup. Pairing the Mobi 360 with the Receiver 1 Turn on the classroom computer on which the Insight 360 software is installed. 2 Insert the Mobi 360 receiver into a USB port. If a USB hub is needed, ensure that a powered USB hub is used. 3 Turn on the Mobi 360 by pressing the blue power button on the top of the unit. The message Please wait while a connection to Insight 360 is being established is displayed on the Mobi 360 screen. 4 When the message, Ensure the Mobi 360 Receiver is displayed, confirm the Mobi 360 receiver has been inserted into a working USB port. 5 Press and release the blue button on the Mobi 360 receiver while the receiver is still inserted into the USB port on the computer. 6 Tap Continue on the Mobi 360. The message Please wait while a connection to Insight is being established shows on the Mobi 360 screen. When the Mobi 360pairs with its receiver, the Teach Class screen is displayed on the Mobi 360. Setting Up Insight 360 Teacher App 1 Download and install the Insight 360 Teacher app from the appropriate app store. 2 Open the Insight 360 desktop software, click My Settings and select the Mobile Devices tab. 3 Check the box labeled Enable Insight 360 Teacher app. 4 Enter the Computer Name (Alias) and Password in the boxes provided. 5 Click the Preferences tab. The computer name must be unique. This is the name the students will use to find your computer when connecting with the Insight 360 Student app. 6 Optionally, click Prompt teacher to confirm student reconnect. This setting will generate a prompt whenever a student attempts to rejoin a class session using the Insight 360 Student app. 7 On the tablet, open the Insight 360 Teacher app. 8 Tap the computer name entered in Step 4. 9 Enter the password in the box provided. 10 Tap OK. The Teach a Class screen appears.
Self-Paced Polling with Insight 360 5 Setting Up Insight 360 Web Access 1 Open the Insight 360 software, click My Settings and select the Mobile Devices tab. 2 Check the box labeled Allow Web Access students to connect. Connecting the Clickers The Insight 360 software is compatible with the Pulse 360/Spark 360 and ResponseCard NXT clickers. 1 Start a class session. 2 Plug in the clicker receiver. 3 If you are using the Pulse 360/Spark 360 clickers, press the power button to turn on the clicker. 4 If prompted, enter the Join Code (JC). If you are using the ResponseCard NXT the Join Code (JC) is the same as the Channel Number. Starting a Self-Paced Test Use Test Player in My Tests to run self-paced tests during a class session. While Test Player is running, the Mobi 360 or Insight 360 Teacher app Question zone is disabled. 1 On the Insight 360 Home tab, click Start a Self-Paced test. Test Player opens in My Tests. 2 In the Select Class column, select the class currently in session. 3 From the Select Test Type drop-down menu, click Answer Key or ExamView. For an Answer Key Test - In Select Test, select the applicable Answer Key test. Enter the name of the test in the Select Test Search box to more easily find your test in the list. For an ExamView Test - Click Browse for Test, and then navigate to the ExamView test file. Select the file and click Open. The default storage location for ExamView test files is: [Windows] C:\ExamView\Tests or [Mac] Macintosh HD: ExamView Pro: Tests. 4 Type a session name in the box provided. The session name will identify the test session in My Results. 5 Click Use Timer to time the test and then type the number of minutes in the Minutes box. 6 If you want each student to see his or her score on the individual student device, select the check box labeled Send scores to students at the end of the test. 7 Click Preview Test to view the Answer Key prior to the start of the test.

A Self-Paced Test command bar is displayed. 9 On the Self-Paced Test command bar, click Play. 10 When finished, click End Test on the Self-Paced Test command bar. Review Viewing Results of a Self-Paced Test When a self-paced test ends, the Insight 360 software records the student scores and other information about the test. You can view the results immediately following the test, or later from the My Results tab in the Insight 360 software.you can also send results of a self-paced test to student devices running the Insight 360 Student app, but you must decide to do this in the Test Player prior to starting the test. How to view results of a Self-Paced Test immediately after the test ends... 1 From the Self-Paced Test command bar, click End Test. 2 Click Close and View Results. The results of the test session display in My Results in Insight 360. How to view saved results of a SelfPaced Test... 1 From the Insight 360 Home tab, click My Results. 2 Click Scores. 3 In the Select a course to filter sessions drop-down, select the class for this test. 4 Select the applicable session from the Session Name list. The test session information is displayed.
