Course overview CHC51712 Diploma of Counselling This qualification is delivered online with a practical placement. Upon enrolment, students are issued with a login and password providing access to the Conwal Institute e-learning centre. You will be required to complete a minimum 240 hour work placement in a counselling environment. Course duration Volume of Learning: 1-2 years or 1200-2400 hours Duration The Volume of Learning includes all activities that are required to be undertaken by the typical student to achieve the learning outcomes. The duration of your qualification will depend on your work and academic experience and how much time you can allocate to your studies. Generally a diploma is completed in approximately 12 months. If you are fitting study around work, life and family commitments you might choose a longer time frame. At full time load: 25 hours a week At part time load: 12 hours a week Maximum access of the course: 36 months (Extensions can be purchased) Pre-enrolment information This course is delivered online with vocational placement requirements. You will be required to complete a minimum 240 hour work placement in a counselling environnment. Conwal Institute can assist you where possible to find a suitable work placement. Requirements Pre-requisites To gain entry into CHC51712 Diploma of Counselling it is recommended that candidates have sufficient relevant work experience to indicate likely success at this level of qualification in a job role involving: The self-directed application of knowledge with substantial depth in some areas; the exercise of independent judgement and decision-making; the application of relevant technical and other skills. You will be required to participate in a language literacy and numeracy task to ensure that the level of qualification you have selected is appropriate for your study needs.
