Candidates who have passed the Degree examination or its equivalent securing 50% marks in the concerned Honours subject will normally be considered for admission. However, in respect of English and Odia, students securing 45% in concerned Honours subject and in respect of Anthropology and geology students securing 45% in concerned Honours subject or 50% both in aggregate and concerned Elective subject are eligible to apply (45% for S.C/S.T. applicants) 2. If adequate number of Hons. students in a particular subject are not available then candidates with 50% in the elective subject & 50% in aggregate and may be taken into account for P.G. selection in that subject by Admission committee B.Sc. (Hons) in computer science, Electronics, IT & B.C.A. (with mathematics in +2 science) candidates are eligible for admission into M.Sc. computer science. Govt. The College Grants Commission has conferred autonomous status on the College since 1990. PATTERN OF ENTRY INTO DIFFERENT COURSES : i. Post-Graduate Courses : For entry into two years P.G Course a candidate will be considered for admission on the basis of his/her marks secured" in the qualifying examination.. ii. Self-financing Courses in Biotechnology, Information Technology and Computer Science : Admission into these courses will be based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination. iii. M.C.A. Course : Admission into MCA course is made on the basis of Joint Entrance Examination JEE (MCA) conducted at the State level. Applicants interested to take admission into MCA course in this College should collect all information regarding selection etc. from the authorities of JEE (MCA), Odisha. II RESERVATION OF SEATS : 1. ------of the total number of sanctioned seats of a course are reserved for candidates belonging to SC (Scheduled Caste) category. 2. ------- of the total number of sanctioned seats of a course are reserved for candidates belonging to ST (Scheduled Tribe) category. 3. The seats of SC and ST are not interchangeable and any reserved seats remaining vacant in either category will be dereserved and filled up from the general merit list, on the last date of the regular admission. 4. The cut-off marks for purpose of provision of additional seats shall be 40% for Arts and Commerce and 50% for Science streams in the aggregate in the qualifying examination. 5. 2% of the total seats shall be kept reserved for children of bonafide Burma Repatriates (BR). 6. 4% of the total seats shall be kept reserved for the children/wife/husband of Government servants/serving defence service personnel on transfer (GSOT) within the normal time of admission. No seats shall be kept reserved for the children of the employees of public sector undertaking. 7. 1 % of the total number of seats shall be kept reserved for the children/wife/husband/ of Ex. Servicemen (ESM). 8. 1 % of the total number of seats shall be kept reserved for the children/wife/husband/ of Serving Defence Personnel (SDP) 9. 5 % of seats shall be kept reserved for admission of Odia students living in neighboring states (OLNS). Attested Xerox copy of the Certificate from a competent authority should be submitted along with the application, 10. 3 % of total number of seats shall be kept reserved for disabled (DEL) persons (minimum 40% disability to be certified by the CDMO/SDMO/Chief Medical Officer, Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar).
11. 2 % of the total seats will be reserved for the children/grand children of Saheed Soldiers and Swadhinata Sangrami (SS). The candidate has to produce attested-copy/copies of the documentary evidence from the competent authority. 12. The total number of students admitted from outside the State (OS) of Odisha to any class shall not exceed 5 % of the total number of sanctioned seats of the class. For the purpose of admission, an applicant will be deemed to be from within the State of Odisha, if he/she has passed the qualifying examination from any of the schools/ colleges situated within the territory of the State of Odisha If an applicant whose parents are permanent residents of the state of Odisha, has passed his/her qualifying examination from school/college not situated within the territory of the state of Odisha, he/she may be considered to be from within the state of Odisha, provided he/she produces a Domicile certificate from a local Revenue Officer, not below the rank of the Tahasildar to the effect that his/her parents are permanent residents of that locality in the state of Odisha. ELIGIBILITY For admission into 1st Year of P.G Courses: 1.Candidates who have passed the Degree Examination or its equivalent securing at least 50% marks in the concerned Honours subject will normally be considered for admission. However, in respect of English and Odia, students securing 45% in the concerned honours subject and in respect of Anthropology and Geology students securing 45% in concerned Honours subject or 50% both in aggregate and concerned Elective subject are eligible. For Hindi, candidates securing 50% in Hindi Honours/Hindi as Elective subject are eligible to apply (45% for S.C/ S.T. applicants). 2.The minimum eligibility for S.C/S.T. applicants shall be 45% in the concerned subject. 3.The minimum eligibility criteria for Anthropology and Geology are also applicable to SC/ST applicants. 4.Eligibility for other P.G./P.G. Diploma courses is as per the admission notice given in the inner cover page. HOW TO APPLY FOR ADMISSION TO PG CLASSES 1. Documents to be Submitted : The applicant shall submit the following documents along with the a. Self Attested true copy of certificate of H.S.C. or equivalent. 4 P a g e
b. Self Attested true copies of mark sheets and certificate of qualifying examination. Applicants of P.G. course must submit Mark Sheets of all the 3 years of B.A./B.Sc./ B.Com. examinations failing which the application will be rejected. c. No objection certificates in original from the employer in case the applicant is employed. d. An attested true copy of recent certificate from the competent authority in case of Orthopaedically / Physically handicapped candidate. e. A candidate claiming admission against Ex-servicemen quota must make necessary entry in the admission form and must enclose the copy of the Ex-Army Certificate issued by the Rajya Sainik Board/Zilla Sainik Board. f. A candidate claiming admission against Serving Defence Personnel quota shall have to produce copy of the documentary evidence. g. Odia students living in neighbouring states desirous of taking admission against the prescribed quota must submit a copy of recent nativity certificate and an affidavit in the prescribed form. h. Two self-addressed unstamped envelopes of size 25cm X 10cm. This is an important requirement, which must be given special attention. i. Filled in address slips. j. The original money receipt against which the information Brochure cum Application has been purchased. k. Candidates sending application form downloaded from the College website have to enclose a Bank Draft for Rs.200/- drawn on any nationalized bank in favor of Principal, Khallikote Autonomous College, Berhampur payable at Berhampur. Note : 5 P a g e SC/ST candidates need not enclose the caste certificate and the income certificate at the time of submitting the application form. However, the applicant must make necessary entries in the application form showing his/her parents' income. At the time of actual admission, the candidate shall furnish true copies of the above certificates and produce the original for verification. The caste certificate should be issued by a competent authority (Collector/Additional District Magistrate/Sub-Collector/Gazetted Revenue Officer not below the rank of Deputy Collector or Tahasildar) of the area. The income certificate should be issued by Tahasildar/ Additional Tahalildar (from the Employer in case of Government Employees). 2. Important Points to be Noted : Claim for reservation not supported by documents or certificates from appropriate authorities, can not be entertained. Documents and Certificates submitted at a later stage will not be entertained. Applicants are required to mention their correct permanent address in the application form in addition to their mailing address and contact numbers, if any, failing which the application is likely to be rejected.
Entries in all columns should be filled in dearly as per instructions given in the application form and not by mere dots or dashes or cross marks. Suppression of facts or submission of incorrect information by the applicant, if detected at the time of admission or subsequently, shall render the selection/admission invalid. An application incomplete in any respect is liable to be summarily rejected. 3. Submission of Application Form : Candidates are required to send the application along with all documents as mentioned in clause '3' by Registered Post/Speed Post (Courier not allowed) addressed to the Principal, Khallikote Autonomous College, Brahmapur - 760 001 (Odisha) by 21-06-2016. So that the documents should be reach in College Office by 24-06-2016. College will not receive any application after 24-06-2016. College will not receive any document by hand. SELECTION For admission into PG courses, marks in Honours/ Elective subject will be considered for selection. In case of candidates securing the same mark in Hons./Elective aggregate marks will be taken into account. ADMISSION (BY POST) 1. Intimations to selected candidates will be sent by mail and with your registered Account and a list of such candidates will be notified on the College website notice board for information of applicants. 2. The selected candidates, after receiving the intimation, shall have to submit the original documents at the time of Admission. 3. All documents and Bank Draft for admission must be submitted at a time in one bunch. 6 P a g e AFTER ADMISSION 1. Students will be required to come to the College always in prescribed uniform dress. Boys : Deep coffee colour full pant and light cream colour full shirt, front open with collar and one left chest pocket. Jeans and cargo designed pants are not allowed. Boys are to wear black shoes. Girls : Deep coffee colour kameez (length below the knee with round neck), elbow length sleeves and light cream colour salwar and chuni. Girls are to wear black open sandals (high heels not allowed). 2. Students are required to submit an extra stamp size photograph and the College Identity Card (to be returned after verification) at the Library Counter for issue of Library Card. 3. In order to be eligible to contest the College election, the student must have 75% attendance.
4. Submission of Migration Certificates: Students who have passed the qualifying examinations from any College other than Berhampur College are required to submit their Migration Certificates in original within one month from the date of their admission for registration under Berhampur College. Students not registered under Berhampur College will not be allowed to fill-up their examination forms. Their results will be withheld for non-submission of Regn. No., if allowed to fill up the form. While submitting the original migration certificate, the students are required to write their class and Roll No. on the back side of the certificate. INTERPRETATION Principal's decision with regard to anything not covered in this Information Brochure or with regard to any dispute arising out of the interpretation of any clause or clauses is final subject to instruction of the Director of Higher Education / Berhampur College / Khallikote Autonomous College, Berhampur. Payment of tuition fees and other related fees are exempted in respect of disabled students pursuing higher studies/technical studies as per Letter No. 27546(16) HE dated 14-9-09 of Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha. a. A student desiring to discontinue the Self Financing course in the middle of the course, will have to deposit balance course fees for the rest of the years before taking College Leaving Certificate, vide Government letter No. 26280/HE dated 30-05-98. 3. 22nd of every month will be observed as "Green Day". Students, Teachers, Guardians are requested not to use Carbon emitting vehicles run on fossil fuel. 4.
