Job Title: Systems & Instructional Design Trainer Division: Technology Location: Main Office Reports To: Kurt Knettel Job Status: Full Time Pay Status: Exempt Job Grade: 617 Date Created / Revised 4/16/2015 Position Summary The Systems and Instructional Design Trainer is responsible for the design and development of training materials focused on systems software programs for field, customer service, and related internal operations. Requires creating instructional materials for classroom, computer based, job aids and other training venues. Position may also coordinate with external vendors to provide training initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities SYSTEMS AND INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN Designs instructor=led or computer based training programs for software systems including but not limited to: GIS, Harris, City Works, M Care, On Base Applies sound design, principles, and methodologies to address training needs in most efficient and effective mode of delivery Develops and updates training materials with clear and appropriate learning objectives Develops interactive training opportunities and evaluation methods to ensure learning and transfer of concepts Test, debug and conduct program testing and simulations prior to training Assists divisions with documentation of current and new processes resulting from upgrades or other changes to existing technical systems as reference source for personnel Ensures continuity and alignment of systems training curriculum with business needs and strategies Understands business processes and issues as they relate to effective and efficient use of technology systems within the organization Collaborate with subject matter experts to engage in leader led training sessions & assist with knowledge transfer Coordinate with IT Operations, Application Support and SCADA team to produce training materials Coordinate with external trainers as needed and ensure delivery supports business focus Audit training sessions to ensure documentation and materials meet objectives. Maintain training and development records and prepare periodic reports for management on training metrics GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
