Adaptable for use under hopper bottom storage To select the basic horizontal custom belt conveyor, the following must be determined. 1. The length of conveyor required. 2. The incline angle, if any, of the conveyor. 3. The desired capacity in bushels per hours. (Charts are based on dry corn.) From the horizontal custom belt conveyor catalog number table, select the catalog number for the desired conveyor length. NOTE: The last three numbers of the catalog number designate the nominal pulley center length of the conveyor in feet. From the motor selection chart for the appropriate incline angle (0, 5 & 10 degrees given), find a length of conveyor longer than the conveyor length required. Use the lowest conveyor belt speed that will give the desired capacity. For instance, using the zero degree incline table for a 101 foot (30.78 m) long conveyor that will handle up to 3300 bu/hr (89 tph), select the 131 foot (39.93 m) length. This will determine the motor horsepower that will provide the capacity and belt speed for the conveyor length {7-1/2 HP (5.5 kw) at 400 FPM (12.2 mpm) for this example}. From the drive catalog number table, select the catalog number for the selected motor horsepower and belt speed. The drive list price is found at the bottom of the horizontal custom belt conveyor catalog number table. Both a conveyor catalog number and a drive catalog number must be ordered. NOTE: In cases where the conveyor will always operate at capacities (bu/hr) lower than those listed in the motor selection chart, it may be possible to go with somewhat longer lengths.
