School of Health Professions Samford s School of Health Professions is made up of four departments: communication sciences and disorders, kinesiology, physical therapy and respiratory care. To meet the growing demand for highly skilled, compassionate health care providers, we are adding a number of new degree options, both undergraduate and graduate. When educating skilled caregivers, there is no substitute for hands-on experience. We give students the opportunity to learn by doing in every program within the School of Health Professions. School of Public Health In the School of Public Health, we focus on issues that affect the health of entire populations. If you find your calling here, you ll work to address some of the most difficult challenges to human health, from access to health care to violence and the return of infectious diseases. Today, the School of Public Health includes five departments: healthcare administration, health informatics and information management, nutrition and dietetics, public health and social work. The problems that affect health and well-being are complex in nature, and their resolution requires professionals to collaborate in an interdisciplinary manner. Consequently, School of Public Health students in every degree program work in collaboration with students in other departments and even other schools, learning to address the increasingly complex needs of the individuals and communities they serve. Regardless of the program in which you are interested, we want to make the admission process as easy as possible. UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE ADMISSION For all undergraduate programs, you must apply first to Samford University through the Office of Admission. To enter Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing, you must also apply for admission directly to the nursing school once you ve been admitted to Samford. Athletic Training also requires a second admission process beyond admission to Samford. For admission to any of our graduate programs, apply directly to the individual school.
