Job Description FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING MANAGER This job description provides an indicative outline of the purpose and accountabilities of the role. Specific performance requirements and expectations will be included in annual performance objectives. Reporting Relationship and Location Reports to: Department/ Team: Controller Finance and Information Group Purpose and Major Challenges of the Role The Accounting (FAM) is responsible for leading the Accounting Team and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Landcorp s financial records, reports and financial reconciliations. The FAM will ensure compliance with Landcorp s corporate financial policies and confirm these policies meet New Zealand equivalents to the International Reporting Standards. The FAM is also responsible for compliance with all taxation requirements including the preparation of the annual tax returns. The Accounting will support the Operations Team with technical advice as required. The role is challenging in its breadth, and whilst a substantial component relates to compliance, the value driver is in the commercial savvy thinking the incumbent will need to exemplify through finance decision support. Role Accountabilities Manage, mentor and support the staff within the Accounting Team to be motivated, effective and efficient in their roles, and provide opportunities for growth and development. Act as a subject matter expert on all technical accounting and taxation issues. Ensure the accurate preparation of Group and company statutory reporting. Prepare the monthly reports, both routine and ad hoc Board and management reports, including performance and analysis and cashflow statements. Leading the monthly monitoring and reporting of operating and capital expenditure variances. Ensure compliance with all taxation requirements, including the preparation of the annual tax returns for all companies. Ensure accurate and up to date finance information to support decision making. Provide effective finance guidance on key initiatives and projects Support the Controller with Landcorp s treasury operation, including risk management strategies and policies, and the development of financial investment proposals Job Description Updated 25.02.15 Page 1 of 5

Deputise for the Controller and advise the Controller on any business improvement initiatives that should be undertaken within the Finance Team. Provide finance services to third parties as required.
