Remote Client Program Installation Remote Client program, NETINSTALL.EXE, is distributed on a CD. To install, follow the following steps. 1) Locate NETINSTALL.EXE on CD. Start the program 2) Next to proceed 3) Yes to start installation process 4) Accept the license agreement 5) Start Codec installation RemoteClient Version 200807 4

Remote Client Main Window Start program : Start ( ) Program DVR Network Remote Surveillance The following is the remote client window. Login: Click on icon Enter user id and password Default User Id: system Password: manager A DVR device/location is also referred to as a site. To register a site, click on setup icon to open the Configuration dialog window. Group Registration With many cameras and many DVRs, grouping simplifies management of them. For example: Suppose there are three buildings, three DVRs and 48 cameras installed. We want to manage (view or not view) all outside cameras. First, create a group with unique name and register all outside cameras into that group. Then, when all outside cameras need to be viewed, select group and issue one command to connect to all cameras registered in the group. To create a group and register cameras, select Group in the configuration menu. USER Registration To user Remote Program, users must be registered. To register a user, select User from the configuration menu. To add a new user : o Enter user information o Select Add button. To modify user information o Select a row containing user name (click on row) o Modify information o Select Add button To delete a user o Select a row containing user name o Select Delete button RemoteClient Version 200807 10
System Setup The system setup configures Remote Client program. All information is local information for Remote Client program and its operation. (1) Version The current version of Remote Client program (2) Language The language used by Remote Client program. Current version supports: English, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian. (3) Connection The connection method describe how Method Remote Client program should be connecting to DVRs. Current version supports: LAN : network connection (4) Single Screen Display ISDN/MODEM : modem connection Full mode: Expand camera image to fit the whole display screen. View one camera at a time. (5) Event Pop Up When event occurs, Sensor is triggered, or Motion is detected by DVR Display camera (associated with sensor or motion) in full mode. (6) Alarm Sound When event occurs on DVR No warning sound, Beep with system beep sound, or Use user specified sound. For user specified sound, enter location of sound audio file. (7) Backup directories DVRs can be set up to backup (or make copy ) of data files at remote location automatically. If backup directories are specified in Remote Client, Remote Client will inform DVR that backup directories are specified. If a DVR is set up for recording (backing up) data at remote location, it will start as long Remote Client is active and running, Check one or both Warning: video data files are large. Emergency Recording Setup Emergency recording refers to unscheduled recording of video, triggered by monitoring personnel only those video and audio selected (and being viewed) on Remote Client. Emergency recording is triggered by pressing emergency button ( ) on the main Remote Client screen and stops when the button is pressed again (Toggled on and Toggled off). Note: Recording also stops if new connections are made to other sites, other cameras or Remote Client configuration is changed. Emergency recording will not occur is storage directories are not set. To register the emergency recording directories, select Record from the configuration menu. RemoteClient Version 200807 12
(1) Select directory Use button to initiate MS Windows Explorer for selection of directory. Comment (2) Allocated size Set maximum storage size (in megabytes) for recording. (3) Add button Add the directory to the directory list for recording emergency videos (4) Apply Directory information can be modified. User Login To login: Enter user id and password Click on login icon ( ) Default User Id: system Password: manager Program Exit / Screen Minimize To exit program or minimize screen Click on power button Minimization It is located in the work list bar of window at the bottom of the screen by minimizing remote surveillance program window size. When surveillance screen is wanted, click remote surveillance program icon of the work list bar. Exit Finish remote surveillance program and terminate. Emergency Recording To capture currently playing live video Click on button Captured video is stored in the predefined directories. On screen LIVE+REC will be displayed during emergency recording. Alarm sound To turn on or off alarm sound Alarm sound will occur when DVR sends event notice. Click on button Event: sensor triggered, motion detected Live Audio To turn on or off audio The sound captured at DVR is transmitted in real time if microphone is installed and audio is enabled at DVR. Click on button Note: Will hear audio of selected video channel. Will not play multiple audio channels. PTZ Camera Control To control a PTZ camera Select PTZ controller tab ( ) PTZ Control Tab Button functions (1) Select PTZ camera to control (2) Change camera direction (3) Zoom in/out surveillance screen (4) Zoom in/out camera focus (5) Control camera IRIS (6) Control camera light. Search Window Video Search To change mode from live to search mode Search tab and Search Time bar will appear Click on tab Search Tab Using the buttons, video can be played forward and backward at a varying speed, including frame by frame search. Search Time Bar Recorded video is indicated by Green color on both calendar and time bar. Video can be selected by clicking date, hour and minutes. Video Search (Locally Recorded Data) Remote Client Program can also replay (search) locally recorded data from emergency recording or from backup. Locally recorded video can be replayed. To search or locally recorded video data, 1) Click on button. 2) Using MS Windows explorer, select directory where recording is stored. 3) If directory contains recorded or backed up data, the green bar will appear. 4) Select date, hour and minutes to replay RemoteClient Version 200807 19
Re-Recording Video While video is being played back during search mode, emergency recording can be activated to record video being replayed. This may be useful when DVR s data is being replayed, as a mean to create a copy. Panoramic View A selected video channel can be replayed in a panoramic view. A panoramic view is a sequence of image frames displayed sequentially in a separate screen. For example, in a panoramic view of 16 screen divisions, 16 consecutive image frames of same camera is displayed. Following images depict 16 image frames displayed in a panoramic view. Remote Backup Purpose of backing up the data is couple of fold: 1) Duplicated data is kept at physically different system, which may be at the same location or at different location. 2) Backup storage has a larger capacity and can preserve data for longer period of time. 3) Backup can be performed manually or automatically based on backup schedule. However, to perform backing up task over a network, sufficient network data band width must be available and to complete the backing up task completely, network and network connection must be stable. Remote backup set up requires o Defining backup device o Configuring backup schedule To define backup device 1) Select backup setup button The following screen will appear. Delete button: Select a backup task and delete HIDE button (covert button) Return to surveillance screen. Even though current backup work is continued. System Control Remote surveillance program can be used to control and configure set selected DVR. To control and set site configuration, Click on tab on the main screen to open System Control Tab. Web Client Features Web surveillance program can connect to DVR with internet web browser only without any special program and process following functions.
