Content and Learning Goals The global engineer is working in a global acting company as part of a multicultural team using modern information and communication technology and special tools to support group work. Part1: Aspects of working in global teams Part 2: Tools and tool architectures Part 3: Actual topics in global engineering Slide 5of 17 Lab: Learning Goal The lab enables the students to contribute to a team in order to analyze tools and their special support functions and to plan their employment under special aspects. Project Lab with introduction to special environments to support spatially distributed teams (Software-Tools, Video-Conference Studio, Media Seminarroom) Experience: Electronic meeting rooms/ Video conferencing studio Desktop Conferencing BSCW Focus: NOT on overall functionality and general usage BUT on special features for team support/ CSCW Students shall be able to choose the right groupware for a given team Slide 6of 17 3

Successful lab attendance will be documented on your Experiment manuals For students who miss more than one experiment the attendance can not tbe documented. d Those students have to take the whole lab again one year later!!! - to receive the full credits.
