Q4. When can a new member apply for connectivity? New member can apply for connectivity once provisional membership of the Exchange is granted. The member can submit application for connectivity along with new membership application. However, the connectivity application shall be processed only on the grant of provisional membership by the Exchange. What is the procedure for a member to apply for additional connectivity? An existing member who is enabled on the Exchange can apply for any type of connectivity request online through ENIT. The path for application of connectivity on ENIT is ENIT Services>Exchange>TCP IP Scenario. All the requests received from the member till 2:30 PM will be processed on the same day and requests received after 2:30 PM will be processed on the next working day. The member will be able to view the status of their requests in ENIT. Q6. What are the procedures for taking connectivity at Third Party Data Centre? The member is required to follow the procedure as defined above (Q5) and will be required to submit the following additional documents in physical form:- Undertaking for third party data centre Copy of agreement between member and third party data centre vendor NOC from third part data centre vendor. Can a member trade on the Exchange using only NOW and without having any Leased line or VSAT connectivity? Yes. Members can trade on NSE with only NOW terminals a CTCL based trading application without having any leased line or Vsat connectivity. For Members using only NOW to trade on the Exchange, the member can set limits on Corporate Manager Id by visiting the Exchange premises.
Q8. What are merger & demerger of scenarios and what is procedure for the same? A merger of a scenario refers to an activity in which two different active scenarios of same category and under same location can be merged together. For Example: A1 and A2 can be merged into A3. In this scenario, if the primary link fails, the system will automatically switch to secondary link. A demerger of a scenario refers to an activity in which one scenario can be split into 2 different scenarios. For eg., A4 Scenario can be demerged into A2 and A2 and both the scenarios are distinct with unique IPs for each. Member can apply for change in scenario online through ENIT (ENIT Services>Exchange>TCP IP Scenario> Scenario merger and Scenario De-merger) Q9. If there is a problem in the connectivity/ flap disturbances etc, what are the necessary steps to be taken? In case of problem in connectivity, members should call Toll Free No: 18001801108 (NSE OMC Helpdesk). In case a member faces the same issue repeatedly, he can get in touch with Membership Department of NSE at 1800 22 0051. Q10. Who are the different service providers for Leased Line connectivity? The different service providers available for Leased Line connectivity are: MTNL, Bharti Airtel, TATA, Reliance, and BSNL Q11. What is a POP and is it mandatory for a member to choose a POP for his connectivity? POP refers to Point of Presence. Members would be required to connect to the POP location to reach the exchange server at BKC. It is mandatory for the member to choose a POP (from the list given below) when a member applies for a leased connectivity. The POP locations are as given below:- i. Mumbai : Ghatkopar, Ballard Estate, Andheri ii. Delhi : Jeevan Vihar, Okhla iii. Kolkata : Alipore, Saltlake iv. Ahmedabad
v. Chennai vi. Rajkot vii. Cochin viii. Jaipur Q12. What is the procedure for shifting of scenario from one location to another and/ or shifting of VSAT within the floor? Shifting of Scenario: Member can apply for shifting of scenario online through ENIT (ENIT Services>Exchange>TCP IP Scenario> Scenario shifting). Shifting of VSAT Member has to submit the physical copy of the request to the membership team. What is the difference between cancellation & surrender of scenario? Cancellation of scenario means annulment of any request submitted by the member for activation, shifting, surrender or merger-demerger of scenario. It simply means that the member wants to cancel any of his existing pending requests. Surrender of scenario means a member wants to completely close down his connectivities and as a pre-requisite, the member should disable or shift his entire user Ids before applying for surrender of a scenario. Q14. What is the procedure to apply for cancellation & surrender of scenario? Cancellation of Scenario: Member can apply for cancellation of scenario online through ENIT (ENIT Services>Exchange>TCP IP Scenario> Scenario cancellation). Surrender of Scenario: Member can apply for surrender of scenario online through ENIT (ENIT Services>Exchange>TCP IP Scenario>Scenario surrender).
Q15. What is the procedure to change category? Change in category is when a member wants to upgrade or degrade their connectivity in terms of messages per second. In this case, Member can move from any category to another within the defined list of category.
