School Assembly Principal s Report Our next School Assembly will be held on Tuesday, 23 rd June at 2:45 in the Library. CSU COMMUNITY-UNIVERSITY PARTNERSHIPS GRANT Recently, following an application process, we received news that the school has been awarded a grant from CSU to help support the mathematics program at school through the purchase of additional classroom resources. BMEC EXCURSION Black Springs students will be travelling to Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre on Thursday, 23 rd July to see a performance of The Moon s a Balloon. This play celebrates play and friendship in a visual feast of music, image, light and story. Travel will be by bus. The subsidised cost per student is $4. Please complete the attached permission note and return to school by Friday, 26 th June. Thank you. A reminder that lollies, chocolate, lolly pops or chewing gum are NOT to be eaten at school. Please send your child with healthy food items in their lunch boxes. We have Fruit Break each morning. Please ensure your child has a piece of fruit cut, peeled and packed each morning. HATS Please remember our rule! No Hat - Play in the shade All students need a broad brimmed hat. Some hats are available from the office @ $11.00 each. As part of sun safety, students are required to wear a hat preferably broad brimmed or legionnaire style - during outdoor activities. The school does not provide children with spare hats.

All activities are suitable for families with children aged 0-6 years. Please encourage friends and family to come along and join the fun. VISITING ARTIST STUDENT REPORT When Maja came to do art with the older kids we got to draw Mrs Behan and Maja. We used ink, candle and pencils. It was hard! Brayden SPORTING SCHOOLS STUDENT REPORT Will came to our school to teach us how to play basketball. First we did basketball skills. Then we played a game that if you touch someone s ball you get a point and if you touch their ball again you get two points. Basketall is really fun and Will is so nice and the games are superduper fun. We all loved it so much. Georgia

VISITING POET STUDENT REPORT We went down to the Library to do poetry with our poetry teacher, Mr Beasley. I wrote about a koala and birds. Then I wrote more stuff about zombies. Afterwards we all showed our poems to each other. All the kids had funny poems. It was better than maths. Charlie MUSIC SCHOOLS STUDENT REPORT At the music lesson we started to practise the song Sweet Home Black Springs and Rob said to me that I should practise the drums at home. But I said that I don t have any yet. At the end of the lesson Rob said goodbye and we went and had recess. I think music is cool. Liam

DISTRICT CROSS COUNTRY STUDENT REPORT On Friday, 22 nd May we went to Mount Panorama in Bathurst for the district cross country. First we had to get our name marked off. Then we had to wait 10 minutes. Next we had a practice run. It was 2kms. When we got back Racheal bought Mary and me some fruit. Then it was time to race. The girls went first while the boys were doing a warm up. Mary came 20 th and I came 24 th. It thought it was exhausting! Lachlan
