Core Units BSBWHS401 Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to implement and monitor the organization s work health and safety (WHS) policies, procedures and programs in the relevant work area in order to meet legislative requirements. BSBPMG522 Undertake project work This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to undertake a straightforward project or a section of a larger project. This unit addresses the management of projects, including developing a project plan, administering and monitoring the project, finalizing the project, and reviewing the project to identify lessons learned for application to future projects. In this role, individuals use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems and analyze information from a variety of sources. Prerequisite Requirements There are no prerequisites for entry to this qualification. Training Course Outcomes Candidates successfully completing the course will receive a Certificate IV in Business. Candidates who partially complete the course will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units of competency that they have successfully completed. Duration Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) / Distance Self Paced / Onsite Workshop Delivery Candidates undertaking this qualification by RPL, Distance Self Paced, or Onsite Workshop Delivery Training have up to 12 months to complete this qualification. An extension for up to 3 months can be purchased should further time be required to complete the qualification. Traineeship* The program is delivered over a maximum period of 24 months (full-time), or 48 months (part-time) as a traineeship. Workforce Training & Development recommends an average time of 12 months for the training of this qualification. Delivery Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) A formal process for recognising skills and knowledge, RPL takes into account previous studies you may have completed as well as life and work experiences. You may be granted credits or exemptions for some units in this course.
Distance Self Paced (Online Course) The training program is delivered via online self-paced learning. Candidates are guided through the program with the assistance self-paced learning materials, and email support from an instructor from Workforce Training & Development. Traineeship* / Onsite Workshop Delivery The training program can be delivered via work place based learning and/or onsite workshop delivery by arrangement. Candidates are guided through the program with the assistance of an instructor from Workforce Training & Development and the workplace supervisor. Workforce Training & Development will make regular contact with Trainees and the workplace supervisor as agreed with the employer and the candidate. It is a requirement of the program that all Trainees are to be withdrawn from routine work duties for a minimum of 3 hours per week averaged over four week cycle, for the purpose of structured training. Assessment Assessment is used to provide candidates with feedback on their progress and to measure their skills and knowledge against the training qualification requirements and those of the industry. Assessment of competency is through the collection of a range of evidence. Candidates will be required to complete a range of assessment activities including written assessments, oral questioning, projects, workplace observations, case studies and third party reports. The assessment process may require some time away from the workplace to complete assignments and self-directed exercises. Qualification Pathways Pathways into the qualification Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include: BSB30115 Certificate III in Business or other relevant qualification/s OR With vocational experience assisting in a range of environments providing administrative or operational support to individuals and/or teams but without a formal business qualification.
