Science and Mathematics Academy Ninth Grade Remediation Plan April 1, 2015 The Ninth Grade Team of the Academy of Science and Mathematics understands the transition from middle school to high school has been tough. As a result, many of our scholars have struggled academically. In an effort to remediate, all of your core teachers have developed a plan to help students improve their current standings. All students wanting to improve their grades should participate. Students must remain current with present assignments in order for the remediation assignment to influence their grades. The maximum score for any recovery assignment is 80%. Additionally, recovery assignments have been created for different categories that make up their overall grade in the course: homework, tests, projects, etc. Use your most recent progress report to decide which tasks will have the greatest effect on your overall grade. For instance a student with 100% in homework, but 50% on test would benefit by doing those assignments that affect the test category and forgo those assignments for the homework category as they will not have any impact on the overall grade. Feel free to speak to your teacher and your academy leader for more information. ******All tasks are due to your teachers by May 15 th.
