Member, Advisory Board for Annual UCSC Business Plan Competition, 2009-12 In the first year, worked with students, faculty and members of the Santa Cruz business community to plan and execute successfully UCSC s first business plan competition in 2009. On a continuing basis, I act as a mentor to participating students as well serving organizational functions. Coach/Mentor, Astia, 2006-present Astia is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs, particularly in the tech field. Each year, a number of companies are selected to participate in their program. These companies are assigned mentors to help them write their business plans, deal with financial issues, etc. I have worked as part of this organization for three years and have mentored three companies. Participant, Teaching Innovations Programs Summer 2009 Selected to participate in TIP, a program developed by the American Economics Association to improve the quality of teaching economics. The program includes a kickoff conference as well as ongoing mentoring by the TIP staff. Awards and Special Recognitions: Disabilities Resource Center Award Spring 2010 The award is given for exemplary efforts to create a welcoming campus climate for students with disabilities, especially those with learning, psychological, Autism Spectrum, and other disabilities that are not always apparent.
