International Research and Innovation Cooperation Conference Smart Cities for Sustainable Development: European and GCC Perspectives & Horizon 2020 Synopsis: Sustainable urban development is recognized as a key challenge at a global level. The Smart Cities model provides opportunities and challenges for cooperation on issues related to areas including energy, water, environment, information and communication technologies, and transport. The two-day conference will focus on converting these challenges into opportunities for collaborations through partnerships. The first day will focus on Smart Cities and Sustainable Urban Development. The second day will witness the launch of Horizon 2020 in the UAE.
