It is an important part of life because without that, people will have a hard time moving around and it will take some time for them to get from place to place and attending jobs. This is where cars come into play. Cars and other sources of transportation such as trains, subways, and airplanes were invented for many reasons, but the most important is for people to get from Point A to Point B. When cars are being used a lot they start experiencing problems in the brakes, motors and other parts that need to be fixed by auto mechanics. Technology has impacted the field of Auto Mechanics in today s society through the use of computers to diagnose the problems in automobiles, to create auto parts, and using computers to track down necessary parts in other locations. If one wanted to become a mechanic, one would have to get used to getting dirty and working really hard. They do not get paid as well as a lawyer or an engineer but when they start their own business they will start seeing the difference in wages. To start off, an auto mechanic gets paid $36,610 per year which is equivalent to $17.60 per hour. Auto Mechanics, also called Automotive technicians, examine vehicles carefully, keep up and carry on, and repair cars and trucks. Service technicians use many different tools, including computerized diagnostic tools and power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding torches, and jacks and hoists
Mendoza 3 (Bureau of Labor). They perform regular maintenance, such as waxing a car, how to recharge air conditioner, how to replace a pcv valve on the car, or how to change the fuel for cars. Potential future service technicians should know that working on today's cars requires an understanding in the science and technology that goes into the modern, highly sophisticated automobile (Automotive Technology Program). Technology has advanced immensely over the past years because more and more technologies are being invented which are beneficial for technicians to repair cars more efficiently, accurately, and have a better running system. Today, when a car has problems, automotive technicians uses digital equipment to identify problems, like brakes and other components. They also use the computer s internet to communicate with other professionals who use tools for making products with machines and other technologies. One is responsible with replacing rotors and pads, others repair brake systems, and some specialize in both brakes and front end work. Automotive service technicians and mechanics use high tech skills to inspect, maintain, and repair automobiles and light trucks with gasoline engines (Automobile Mechanics Technology). The increasing sophistication of automotive technology now relies on workers who can use computerized shop equipment and work with electronic components, while maintaining their skills with traditional hand tools. Technicians are given the opportunity to study the difference types of defects that its technicians are finding in the field ( Emanuele ). Auto Mechanics have evolved strongly in terms of technology. The more advanced technologies that are developed, the more accurate automotive technicians become. Today, the use of electrical systems and computers helps vehicles to run and measure their performance on
Mendoza 4 the roads. Automotive technicians have improved their diagnosing of a car s engine light, which signals a fault in any number of the car s system and to fix it with On Board Diagnostics (OBD). Auto techs are being exposed to General Motors, and it s one of the world s largest automakers. General Motor s new OnStar Driver Assurance program anticipates when the battery, starter motor, or fuel pump might fail and warns drivers so they can fix problems before they occur (Pallatto, John). Automotive technicians need the help of technology like computers to track down the necessary parts for a car in various other locations. Technologies have a significant impact in the growth of automotive industry because it will track down necessary auto parts that will be fast and easy to maintain a car running for a long amount of time until it needs to be fixed. Companies also must track useful tools and little components that might be hard to find since cars have a variety of different tools. Software is put into automobiles which means that technicians are placing an improved program and operating information run by a computer that will let them know how and what types of problems a car has and what parts they need to fix so it is for both, the person and the technicians benefit. Unlike diesel service technicians and mechanics, automotive service technicians and mechanics repair and inspect all types of vehicles ("Auto Mechanic"). Cars are a useful source of transportation so people can have something to travel from place to place a lot quicker than traveling by foot. Technology has impacted the field in what automotive technicians do in today's society by diagnosing problems in automobiles, the creation of auto parts, and using computers to track down necessary parts in order to fix cars.
