UN-PRME, an initiative of the United Nations Global Compact, has established six principles for educating professionals responsibly and for supporting sustainable business practices: Purpose, Values, Method, Research, Partnership and Dialogue. Roosevelt was among the first business schools in the United States to sign the UN-PRME pledge to adhere to these six principles. With this focus on sustainable business practices and responsible management education, we will prepare you for the future of business in a diverse, global and resource-constrained world.

shared stories from business college alumni. a diverse community of peers. Roosevelt graduates enter the workforce with a leg up on other business grads. Why? Because to succeed in a global marketplace, companies seek out graduates who have learned and experienced diversity firsthand. That is the Roosevelt University graduate. Here, diversity is more than a matter of theory. It s what we live, inside and outside our classrooms. As one of the most diverse universities in the Midwest, Roosevelt provides real-world education that prepares you for real-world. Octavio Santiago After earning his master s in human resource management from Roosevelt in 2009, Octavio was chosen from among 5,000 applicants for the prestigious Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) program, which prepares grad school graduates for high-level government leadership roles. As a PMF fellow, Octavio applied his well-honed HR management strategies at the U.S. Department of Defense/Air Force s Space and Missile Systems Center in Los Angeles, where he distinguished himself as the number one recruiter of PMFs, served as the Hispanic Employment program manager to diversify the center, represented the center at 65 recruitment events, interviewed dozens of disabled college students for the Federal Workforce Recruitment Program, and was recognized as the center s Hispanic/Latino of the Year (2010). He completed his PMF rotation at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, in Washington, D.C., where he was charged with authoring a strategic plan to make the three Pathways programs more diverse across the federal government. He continues to express pride in his Roosevelt education and revel in the of other graduate business students.

ALUM Karine Mirzoyan After she earned her undergraduate degree in finance at Roosevelt, Karine Mirzoyan returned for her MBA in accounting. She believes the small classes, led by professors with real-world field expertise, gave her an academic and professional edge. The list of great hands-on experiences Karine had is impressive. She held internships at Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. As part of the Honors Program, she served as a research assistant to a professor exploring the globalization of financial markets. Karine even founded and led a graduate student organization that focused on sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Roosevelt is a school that opens opportunities for students to make a difference, says Karine, who came to the United States with her brother in 2005 to take advantage of Roosevelt s first-rate education. (Now their sister has joined them as well!) I m glad I chose a school that embraces and advocates values that coincide with my own. Student groups dedicated to business.
