2 Page1 DePaul University College of Commerce School of Accountancy and MIS Ledger & Quill Transfer Accounting Scholarship program For students at the College of DuPage The School of Accountancy and Management Information Systems at DePaul University has established an accounting scholarship program for College of DuPage students transferring to DePaul and intending to major in accounting. The scholarships are for the academic year at DePaul, and are renewable. The awards include fixed and variable amount scholarships of up to $2500 annually, and draw on scholarship funds provided by generous friends and alumni, and by Ledger & Quill, the accounting alumni society and support organization of the School of Accountancy and MIS. Awards are both merit and need based, and renewable upon meeting scholarship criteria. Eligibility Criteria: Accepted to DePaul University College of Commerce for Fall 2012 entry College of DuPage student Minimum 3.3 GPA in all prior college course work Have minimum 30 semester/44 quarter hours of transferable credit completed by start of Fall quarter 2011, and successfully completed at least two courses in accounting. Intending to major in accounting FAFSA-demonstrated unmet need, if applying for a need-based award Evidence of continued academic and professional success. Need is considered in selection criteria, but not all awards are need-based. Interviews with the School of Accountancy s Scholarship Selection Committee may be required. Renewal Criteria: The Ledger & Quill Transfer Accounting Scholarships are renewable for a second year of funding, at the initially-awarded amount, if scholarship criteria are met. Scholarship criteria include continuing with the accounting major, full-time status, regular degree progress, and maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA. Applicant Instructions: Complete and submit the application for transfer admission (along with official transcripts) to the DePaul University Office of Admission. 4 Page3 The School of Accountancy and Management Information Systems The DePaul University School of Accountancy and Management Information Systems, known for its innovative programs in accounting, has been a major source of graduates for professional accountancy and management information systems careers in public accounting, business and industry, and the public sector.
