Professors really encourage formal and informal group work, which made the program more fun and also enhanced the amount of knowledge I gained. PRIYA IYER, MSSCM 2014 Olin has an international experience that binds together many nationalities and cultures and allows me to learn as much outside of class as I do inside. The Foundation Courses also helped me learn the basics of finance and accounting two subjects I had never studied before and prepared me for the more advanced topics in my second semester. THOMAS NAPIER, MSFC 2014 Because I wanted to gain deeper exposure in finance, the curriculum of Olin s Corporate Finance and Investments track fit my needs exactly. The curriculum is significantly more flexible than many of the other programs I researched. NEAL COFFEY, MSFC 2013 The highlight of the program was the social events, where I met MBAs, alumni, faculty, undergraduates, staff, and industry experts. Networking exposes you to opportunities to which you would not normally have access and proves valuable in the interview process. BRIDGET HAN, MACC 2013 Olin s MACC program offers a lot of flexibility and depth. The high-level accounting courses provide students with a competitive advantage in accounting-related fields, and the curriculum gives students freedom to choose courses from other disciplines, including finance, logistics, marketing, and management. In my opinion, this flexibility gives Olin a unique niche. MARC ASIEDU, MSSCM 2012 I didn t want an experience that centered solely on learning formulas and terminology. Rather, I was looking for an environment that would challenge and expand the way I thought about business problems. Having been a part of the Olin community previously, I knew that the high caliber of the faculty, as well as the students, would provide just that. REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCE + EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING Through Olin s network of corporate business partners and campus resources, students have many opportunities to apply what is learned in the classroom with real-world, practical experience. Olin s Center for Experiential Learning (CEL) provides elective courses and unique initiatives for students to work together on teams to solve management challenges. These courses include the CEL Practicum, Investments Praxis, and Taylor Community Consulting Program. In addition, the Skandalaris Center for Entrepreneurial Studies offers cross-campus collaborative learning initiatives in all seven schools of the university, where ideas and people can connect and launch a business. Olin also has other centers of learning that provide students with opportunities to focus on industry-specific business strategies that impact organizational success. These centers include the Wells Fargo Advisors Center for Finance and Accounting Research (WFA-CFAR), the Boeing Center for Technology, Information, and Manufacturing (BCTIM), and the Center for Research in Economics and Strategy (CRES). Each of these Centers offers students the opportunity to become engaged in ground-breaking research. Faculty work closely with students to facilitate this interaction.
