ZITAC IMAGE FACTORY & CUMULUS ASSET BROWSER Single source your images and other assets to your website / e-shop directly from Cumulus USING ZITAC IMAGE FACTORY you only have to provide one high ZIF resolution source image for each image used on a website. ZIF dynamically generates images in different formats, dimensions and qualities on demand. For example an Online-Shop presenting hundreds or thousands of products usually requires manually prepared images for thumbnails, normal scale presentations and detail views. USING ZIF you only have to provide one high resolution image instead - using the desired size and format as a request parameter. You can even display image sections showing magnified details of the source image by simply providing an additional parameter to the image URL defining the desired section. From a web manager perspective the Cumulus Asset Browser will automate this for you through an easy-to-use interface.
How it works high level principle CUMULUS EDITOR catalogs high resolution images and tag them for web usage availability. ZIF CONTINUOUSLY makes requests to Cumulus in order to maintain metadata index of web-tagged assets, mainly for performance reasons. WEB CMS MANAGER inserts image to web page editor through Cumulus Asset Browser. FOR E-SHOP / PRODUCT PRESENTATIONS, the process can be fully automated, where images are published to web based on any unique identifier (i.e. article number) and metadata values. ZIF SERVES website visitors with images on request according to chosen size/crop and image is stored in ZIF cache for quick retrieval. ZIF UPDATES its cache when a change to original asset in Cumulus is detected.
