Anita L. Zuberi, Ph.D. 2117 Cathedral of Learning 4200 Fifth Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15260 412-624-8734 azuberi@pitt.edu RESEARCH SUMMARY: Broadly, my work focuses on the intersection of health, race, and neighborhoods. I am interested in the role of neighborhood distress specifically living in a dangerous neighborhood as a stressor leading to adverse health outcomes, and the racial inequality in neighborhood distress that may help to explain racial disparities in health. Furthermore, I am interested in the role of social policy in reducing health disparities through programs that aim to improve distressed neighborhood contexts.
