Canadian German Partnering Program Meet with German Bioenergy Companies in Canada November 22-25, 2011. Guelph, ON Juergen Ullrich MD Ulmo

We make energy for our children s generation

We create VALUE for the benefit of our CUSTOMER CHP- Wood Power Plant The company distributes a CHP wood power plant from Spanner RE 2 GmbH under exclusive North American licence conjointly with Summo Steel Corporation. Ulmo has nearly 30 years of experience in the global automotive supplier business and is doing consulting and distribution for the bioenergy industry today. Summo Steel Corporation which is a Canadian-owned automotive supplier with locations in Burlington, Ontario and Monterrey, Mexico. The company employs close to 300 people with sales of CAD$50 million and was founded in 1980. A strong technical Department follows the needs of our Customers The Wood Power Plant Since 2007 the Wood-Power-Plant was developed by SpannerRe²GmbH which is based on wood gasification. After two years of development, the units began to sell.

Installed Systems 12 24 36 2009 2010 2011 The Wood-Power-Plant is based on the principle of wood gasification. Summarized input dry wood chips output electrical and thermal energy. The emissions are coal powder and exhaust gas, with are in the range of the European Law

Experience Now there are 60 plants that feed into the power system (Sept. 2011) the first two systems have in excess of 10,000 running hours. Overall customers we have 100,000 hours running time. The plant is made for electrical energy in a range from 30-150 KW. The customer uses the thermal energy for heating buildings, dairies, drying grass or wood Each customer can be visited. Customer Survey - Are you satisfied with the economy 30% 52% 19% above expections meet the expections below expections Next Steps Using pellets as fuel ( prototype is running) Expand power to 100 KW electrical per unit Using coal for thermal energy Thermal energy using in cooling systems Improve efficiency

Markets we serve Industry Rural Market- Off grid, replacing diesel generator WOOD GREENHOUSE DAIRY CHP- Wood Power Plant Big building, Farms, Schools, Community houses, Sport halls

: Example I Industry In the industry there are many way to use the Wood-Power-Plant. The electrical power is fed into the grid and the thermal energy can be used for drying wood chips, pellets, or logs. The support and service is done Payback Ø6,2 years

Example II Big buildings micro heating network Big buildings, schools, farms, sport halls all buildings can be heated by the CHP - Wood- Power-Plant. The profitability is favourable when the system is used in a micro-heatingnetwork as based load. The support/service is usually done from a mechanic from the village. The wood chips are purchased from the surrounding area, usually from the public land maintenance. Spanner Wood Power Plant Payback 7,6 years

Example III Rural areas In many rural regions electrical power is produced by diesel generator. The fuel must be transported by truck, airplane or ships to the remote regions. The production cost of the electrical power is very high but still cheaper than connecting to the grid. If you use the wood from surrounding area, the running cost can be reduced even more. Payback Ø2, 2 years

We create VALUE for the benefit of our CUSTOMER Future The Wood-Power-Plant is one way to make the energy supply renewable and decentralized. The process is independent from wind, sun, or water. The process can be stopped any time. You can use trees from landscaping services and you don t have to block areas for food. Our customers have shown us the many possibilities of how the system can be used. They have one thing in common: they replace oil, gas, coal or nuclear power economically with renewable resources. We make renewable energy competitive

We give renewable energy a new meaning WOOD POWER = electricity + heat
