ADESSO ENERGIA SRL AE BIO SOLAR THE BEGINNING OF A NEW ENERGY PRESENTATION Tel fax Pagina 1
INTRODUCTION Adesso Energia is an innovative startup based in Palermo created by people who have been working in the field of renewable energies that have had the insight to bet on the integration of more renewable energy in order to fill the gaps related to the exploitation of each of them and consistently produce more clean energy. Using the experience gained and involving research institutions, skilled technicians and several companies operating in the sector, was born so the hybrid system " AE BIO SOLAR ". DESCRIPTION " AE BIO SOLAR " is an innovative system for the continuous production and combined electricity that integrates the heat collected from the SOURCE SOLAR and the thermal energy produced by the combustion of BIOMASS. PROJECT OUTLINE Pagina 2
HOW DOES THIS WORK The hybrid system " AE BIO SOLAR " has been engineered for the production of electricity through a closed circuit (ORC turbine) that, by means of a rankine cycle at low temperature ( 165 C ), exploits the thermal energy collected by the solar source ( solar field ) and the thermal energy produced by biomass burning ( boiler ). The main components of the system are thus: SOLAR FIELD, BOILER AND TURBINE. These components were specifically designed and sized by three different Italian companies consolidated experience according to the characteristics required for the realization of the project. The SOLAR FIELD consists of parabolic troughs in the number necessary to cover between 20 and 40% of the heat output of the system based on the power required. A concentrator is formed by curved mirrors of parabolic shape positioned north / south with tracking system east / west to maximize solar collection during the day. The mirrors reflect the sunlight and, thanks to their parabolic shape, the focus on a point where the receiver tube. The heat transfer fluid consisting of thermal oil which circulates inside the receiver tube is then heated to the desired temperature of at least 145 C. Only at this temperature the thermal oil will come to a heat exchanger with the purpose to bring the same temperature as the fluid carrier of the main system and that is " water ". It will then be the task of the BOILER energize the same " water " up to 165 C, the optimum temperature for the production of electricity with the " AE BIO SOLAR ". If the temperature of the carrier fluid coming from the solar field will not reach the minimum requirement (such as at night for example ) will be only the boiler, directly and constantly, through most biomass combustion, will maintain the temperature required by the system. The boiler, so even without the contribution of thermal energy from the solar field, constantly provide water at a temperature of 165 C to a closed circuit ORC ( TURBINE ) through a heat exchanger with fluid inside, a special organic biodegradable and non-toxic. This special fluid, entering into boiling at temperatures far lower than that of water, produces highpressure gas whose expansion turbine that moves the sliding the rotor of a generator produces electricity that can be self-consumed or injected into the network. At the exit of the turbine working fluid, even in gaseous form, is brought to a condenser where it transfers excess heat and returns to being a liquid ready to be pumped back in the closed circuit. The excess heat released in the condenser is still usable thermal energy for preheating or drying of the biomass (CAR ). Despite the three main components of the system ( solar field, boiler and turbine ) are provided with specific control panels for the automated management of its process, the entire property is managed and controlled from a distance by the innovative system SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) that, through special application software and dedicated sensors, to ensure perfect integration and operation of all the elements. Pagina 3
CHARACTERISTICS OF MAIN COMPONENTS SOLAR FIELD: high quality and reliability demonstrated by the certified performance up to 250 C according to the standard EN ; mirrors tempered glass 4mm hail; receiver tubes of stainless steel; steel supporting structure; handling system and solar tracking; sensors and electrical panel for operation, remote monitoring via Ethernet and to activate automatic safety procedures against the strong wind, overheating or lack of flow. BOILER: high quality and reliability demonstrated by the performance certified according to the standard EN12953; electronically controlled automatic; guaranteed compliance with environmental regulations; sensors and electrical panel for operation, remote monitoring via Ethernet and to activate automatic safety procedures; software which allows to change management based on the type of fuel used; with system fuel loading automatic crossbow. TURBINE: Low operating temperature heat sources to exploit even " poor "; Low operating pressures for greater safety, lower regulatory issues and lower system costs; Working fluid used non-toxic, biodegradable and completely dry so no erosion of the turbine, high system reliability, low maintenance costs and the need to few controls; No discharge into the atmosphere because it works in a closed loop; Friction eliminated for direct coupling of the turbine alternator; Using ceramic bearings that prolong the service life and allow operation at high rpm; Sensors and electrical panel for operation, for the remote monitoring and remote diagnostics remotely via Ethernet and to activate automatic safety procedures. Pagina 4
SPECIAL SYSTEM AE BIO SOLAR " Given the considerable interest, the system "AE BIO SOLAR" is now in the process of patenting internationally. Its main characteristics are : It's an innovative system for the continuous and combined production heat and power; Take advantage of solar energy up to 3200 hours per year and the energy for the combustion of biomass for other 5800 hours. Total production 8000 hours per year of 8760; Respect the environment because it uses to produce energy as the main carrier fluid " water " to the maximum temperature of 165 C; Working at low temperature no need for specialized personnel; It s a plant in High Efficiency Cogeneration; It s can turn into a trigeneration plant for air conditioning and refrigeration; It may be only to biomass or solar; It works with various types of biomass; It can be integrated by burning methane gas; The main components of the system (solar field, boiler and turbine) are constructed and sized specifically by Italian companies of primary and consolidated experience that ensure their good accordance with applicable law; The entire property is managed and controlled from a distance by the innovative system SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) which will ensure the proper functioning of the system. BIOMASS FOR BURNING The system, in addition to exploiting the sun's energy ensures stable operation through the burning of biomass derived from agricultural waste such as wood pellets, wood chips, husks, shells, cereals, etc. Depending on the calorific value and the costs to be incurred is preferable to use the anhydrous exhausted pomace olive Energy which now can ensure the provision of all that needed to operate the plant. TYPE OF PLANTS AND STAKEHOLDERS Adesso Energia has already drawn up plans to install systems "AE BIO SOLAR" with power from 50kWe and until the creation of the so-called large plant also of several megawatts. Those who are now interested in doing this type of system are small, medium and large investors, farms, public agencies and all those structures that need also of thermal energy to heat or cool environments such as hospitals, hotels, super markets, etc. Pagina 5
HOW MUCH ELECTRICITY AND HEAT PRODUCES To make clear the potential of the "BIO SOLAR AE" is below, illustrate the data related to plants with a power of 200kw and 1 mw: AE BIO SOLAR hours of annual production of Kw 1Mw Production from solar (3.200 hours) 40% Kwe Production from biomass (4.800 hours) 60% Kwe Total electricity production year 100% Kwe Thermal Production (hour) Kcal/h The heat output may also be used to heat or cool environments. Here in Italy the system also benefits from the incentives provided for white certificates. With the examples of production reported above provides the basis for a correct evaluation of the investment to adapt to the expected benefits in every single country in the world. In Italy the plants are allowed up to 200kw with simplified procedures and therefore be suggested to invest in the building of this power multiple systems rather than one of the largest size. INVESTING IN ITALY WITH THE "AE BIO SOLAR" The plant meets the specifications required by current legislation in Italy for the granting of two types of incentives combined. The incentives for the part thermodynamics are provided and fixed for 25 years, and combined with the selling price of the energy fed into the grid. The incentives for the part of the combustion are valid for 20 years and paid through a comprehensive tariff. Moreover, if the heat produced by the cogenerated is also used for other uses (heating, cooling, etc.), you get the certification, high capacity (CAR) that allows you to also enjoy the benefits involved in the white certificates. According to Italian law the return on investment in the system "AE BIO SOLAR" takes place in a maximum of 6 years and the total profit for the duration of the incentive comes to 350 %. Pagina 6
RESEARCH AND OBJECTIVES Adesso Energia has signed with the University of Enna (Unikore) a memorandum of understanding for research, innovation and technology transfer system "AE BIO SOLAR". With the help of researchers in the Faculty of Engineering of Enna and all the technicians involved in the project, Adesso Energia is focusing on the following objectives : System Design with downsizing costs for small cuts until 30kwe to reach the market for households and small businesses; I also use the waste as fuel to be used in the system to create clean energy whilst resolving one of the problems that afflict the whole world; Study of a process of accumulating both electricity and thermal energy is produced by the system. Today, the energy produced can only be self-consumed or fed into the grid; OUR SERVICES Energy realizes now works with the system of "turnkey " taking care of the following phases: Planning; Permitting; Request for connection; Supply and installation of the plant; Testing and relations with the GSE; Training of personnel for the proper functioning of the system.
